We finally got enough snow to pull a toboggan of gear into the backcountry and I was stoked. Yes, there was a snow storm in the forecast, and we were expecting over a foot of snow, but I packed accordingly and was up for the adventure. I would be taking my new nylon hot tent and titanium wood stove into the backcountry by pulk, for the first time, and I was super excited about the reduced weight. Regardless, it was still a struggle, but I made it to a nice spot, set up camp and sat and watched the weather go crazy. Then, I got a really nice surprise at the end of the trip. Hope you enjoy my adventure in the Kawartha Highlands.

Hunters in my area use the reflective tacks (you referred to them as nails.) They are commonly known as cat eyes in my neck of the woods.

So was this trip done during the January winter storm? The tip to measure the distance from a trail or campsite was a nice one 😍. How did the toboggan handle the rocks with the load? I love your hoodie 😀. Thanks Christina✌.

One of them, yes. I say the date at the start. I think it was the 12th? Thanks. I thought so too. The toboggan was great over the rocks. Much easier than going up hills LMAO. The hoodie is from my clothing line that I used to have unfortunately, no longer making them. Cheers! Thanks for watching and commenting.

Another great video! I might have missed it, but what winter boots are you using? 😊😊😊

You can always find all the gear that I use on my trips, including my footwear on my website at camperchristina.com. With links. These are the polar fleece durands from Keen which have now been discontinued, and somewhat replaced with the Revel V’s. My friend Jenny had them on in my silent lake videos. Sharp looking boots. 🥰

What brand is your CO2 detector? Are you happy with it?
@CamperChristina

I’m not. I’m going to go back to using my kiddy one from my house. I fully charged it three times before my last three trips and for some reason when I get to camp, it doesn’t work. On one of my trips, it drained the entire battery from my portable charger which should charge my phone six or seven times. I have the information in the videos from my herb lake trip.

Do you find the tent too dark in comparison to your homemade ones?
@CamperChristina
@CamperChristina 7 ай бұрын
I definitely find it much much darker. I also think I have a bit of a green tinge to my skin. Lol. But I have had rain in it a few times and I don’t panic. lol. So … it’s a decent trade I think? But I do miss my window!!! 🥰

I can't figure out how to book a winter campsite at any of the Provincial Parks? How is it done?
@CamperChristina
@CamperChristina 7 ай бұрын
Go to ontarioparks.com, click reservations, click backcountry for this particular area, pick the park, and pick your dates. There’s an 800 number there in case you need help. 😊

@@CamperChristina That's what I was doing but it wouldn't scroll down. Just went back to it again and now it works. Guess it was frozen for some reason, thank you.
