Your channel is more authentic, more useful, and more interesting than main stream TV. Today we became patreon members. Keep doing what you do. Be true to yourself, not the wants of others. We started watching because of your character, ingenuity, hard work and how you love and respect your mother. Keep being you.

Absolutely spot on Howard. Well speaking as a Brit stuck with the BBC CH4 ITV CH5 SLY & the rest of the jaguar ad progressive limp wristed twisted force fed crap pushed on EVERY poor Brit watching any channel your a joy to watch.. Ant off topic but I think a slightly better name for Soviet Blue would be "Old Blue".. Just a suggestion. Keep the vids coming fella You and Camarata are my current favourite channels. Blessings from Shropshire.

On your dirt road to the borrow pit, dig a deep trench beside the road to give the water a place to drain to. Even top soil will stand more firm when dry. Roads should be higher than anything around them so water sheds away.

The digging site looks like a ice-age river close to a glacier to me. Changing layers of sand rocks and pod soil. The dark spot came to be when the vegetation could grow on a permafrost close to a river. Then some floods buried that. The exact mixture of sand/rocks/clay was determined by the stuff the glacier would deposit and how fast it was melting that time. The large lump of clay was probably a place where the water was slow for a while and fine stuff could deposit. It could have been a lake, but then more clay would have been found in my opinion an the there wouldn't have been the dark vegetation spots. It could have been part of a end moraine, but then the layers would have been much bigger, and less sorted by size, i think. But I'm not a geologist, just someone who is interested in everything. 🙂 The reason why it's not obvious a river bed anymore is that the ice in the permafrost melted and the ground settled unevenly, depending on how much water was store in it.

It is incredible what you’ve done to the land, all graded and gentle sweeps, amazing! I have to say that Estonia looks a lot like the US, except without all the millions and millions of signs and littles strip malls everywhere AND the only fast food place I saw was Kentucky Fried Chicken! When you finally make it here someday you won’t believe how many we have, thousands and thousands everywhere. I did not see any trash either, no litter on the sides of the roads, I wish we could be that conscious of our litter! Anyway, take a break, you’ve worked your ass off and thanks for the entertainment!!!

You could use the concrete pad you poured for the saw mill to wash your beasts or pour you a pad to do washing and repair work outside. No mud. Just hose it off when done. My explanation of the wired soft spots after back filling with sandy gravel, based on my own experience. When you put down the sandy gravel you put in on places with waterlogged soil or puddles. The weight of the material put over that, squeezed out the water underneath it and pushed it into the sand/gravel mix, effectively creating a quicksand situation. I had this situation myself when filling up a large indent in a field. The surface was dry but when walking on it you would sink down nearly to your hip. It took a month to "harden up", as the water slowly drained away or evaporated. Walking on it a week later was strange. It was like walking on a membrane with water underneath it.

You have an area of stream channel deposits there, Andris. The sediment size depends on the velocity of the water in that location at the time the sediments were laid down. The faster the flow the larger the stuff. Example .- the inside of a stream bend travels slower than the outside so you can have silt/clay anesthetic to coucourse gravel.

At the company that I work for we have an IHI excavator thats roughtly 2-3x the size of the little Yanmar that you have that seems to do everything. It presently has BOTH of its track adjusters/tensioners blown out. I am waiting for parts from a dealer in the UK to be shipped to me in the US so I can pull both tracks and repair those. I would say with what you do with that little excavator you have it is a serious trooper. I had never had experience with Yanmar equipment only their engines until your channel and I have been impressed with what that little thing can do. It punches above its weight for sure.

So much content🎉 Love it! Washing Joseph after completing his precision dirt work is a must; he is a loyal worker and clearly he enjoys the pampering. Such a good looking dude resting on that green grass... Surprised he's not smoking a cigarette or something LOL! ANYWAY, the intermission break (aka: drive around town) was nice to see too. There is no mistaking those old soviet apartment blocks LOL! A bunch of drunk Ivans built those hideous things everywhere they could back in the day. I've said this so many times, but I truly mean it...I really love watching your videos and following along as you make changes to and work around the property. Never think that you've shown something too many times or that a particular topic might become boring to your audience. There is an anecdote about the old blue tractor. It was supposedly built by a woman. Previously, her husband, the tractor driver, came home drunk and did not leave her or the rest of the family alone. However, after a day of work T 40 - he came home so tired that he immediately fell asleep...😄😄 The tractor worked really hard this time - like in its youth on the collective farm..😁 Thank you for the excursion to Tartu. It was interesting.

Really looks nice Andris, that gravel mix should make a great base once it all settles in. Really liked seeing Joseph being used, you couldn't have completed hauling gravel without it to clean up the road! Especially impressed with it for grading the gravel, it did a very nice job of smoothing and on grade. Amazing job! Was thinking about ground cover for your top soil mountain along the road, around here we use "crown vetch" (Securigera varia). is a low-growing legume vine. It is native to Africa, Asia and Europe and is commonly used throughout the United States and Canada for erosion control, roadside planting and soil rehabilitation. Grows 30cm high at the most, can be easily trimmer with a string trimmer. Blooms pink flowers from May through August, crowds out other unwanted plants and weeds. The best time to plant crown vetch seeds is in the spring, from March 15 to May 15. Should impress Supermom and many others, plus prevent erosion and no care needed.
@SuperMAZ0075 күн бұрын
Despite calling the mud road a ugly mud pit, i have seen way worse. Was fun sitting in Josephs cab, wee. Tartu has lot more stuff to explore but for someone who has never seen it your video summed it up very well. The odd layers in the gravel pit are run offs that have formed a dark mud like sediment layer. The smaller stones can accumulate as river deposits to the river must have flown different or been lot bigger in the past.
