Hi Bheema, Backfill refers to the material used to refill an excavated area/space, and it is typically used to strengthen and support a structure's foundation while also promoting better drainage. Stone is a great choice for backfilling because it's durable and offers great drainage. It is always recommended to avoid the use of Black Soil for backfilling as these types of soil shrink during summer and you will see so many wide cracks all around it and in the rainy season, it will expand so much that it will be dangerous to the foundation or retaining wall.
