Only a few of their scopes are made there but I'd encourage you to try them out. I've landed on Burris after doing a lot of looking and researching. Everybody's different, but before I made my most recent purchase I went to 2 stores and compared similarly priced/optioned vortexes to the Burrises. At low power they all looked clean and nice, about halfway up the power the vortexes started to blur, and at top power I literally couldn't get the vortex to focus naturally while the Burrises, from 300 to 900 bucks or so, could be made crisp and were significantly brighter all the way up. For broad-use optics they can't be beat for me. Of course I can't say what the Philippine employees are treated like but those are my findings.

I bought a gun used with an old Burris. 1-4 power. It was foggy. I called them and asked if they could fix it. I offered to pay since I bought it used. They refused to take any money for fixing it. That scope became the one scope my dad and I fight over. We both love it, it’s so clear……and holds its adjustment.

I have to say thank you for this video. After 60 years of shooting I have never seen a video tour of an optics manufacturer that was this extensive. The informality was intriguing and refreshing. Kudos to Burris. Everyone should be able to understand why high quality optics are so expensive after watching how they are made. You might not be able to afford them, but you will understand why.

Used many Burris scopes throughout the years - never a days issue and always loved them for some reason while everyone else was on about "bigger and better". It is weird, it is almost as if the values of a company such as Burris bleeds down to their products. This video shows the "why" behind the scenes. Great company and I will continue to support Burris and well done on this vid Backfire!

Burris is one of the few manufacturers to supply stainless finish scopes that match up with stainless firearms. Their scopes have been super at turning my stainless arms into tack drivers; including a new 6" Colt Python. For some reason the new Colt Pythons are not drilled for optics, so a gunsmith drilled the necessary mounting holes for me. Fortunately, the new Anacondas are drilled for optics.

Burris scopes definitely give you a lot for the money. The coating and lenses are clear and perform very well in low light with high light transmission. Like he stated, it's a balance of give and take to produce an excellent scope with the performance you need and not cutting corners. If a better image will add a little more weight, Burris chooses the better image. If you have the opportunity to do actual side by side comparisons with different scopes, for example, at the hunting camp and you are able to look at the same object in the same light with different manufacturers, Burris stands above many others. Of course you can spend a couple thousand on a high end Luepold and you will have a great scope. But you don't necessarily have to break the bank to have an excellent optic from Burris and also have the forever warranty. I've never heard of an unhappy Burris owner. I can't stand spending money just to have a name or overpay just to feel like I got something nice. When you look at the quality of the product and its features and reliability, when it comes to Burris, you can feel confident you are getting every penny you spend. It's hard to justify the high cost of high end scope when you can spend a whole lot less and be perfectly satisfied with a nice Burris scope. When you do the actual side by side comparisons, it's difficult to see where all that extra money is going. Most of the time, it's just someone saying they spent x amount so I got what I paid for must be worth it. Buy a Burris, enjoy a great quality scope and you'll see where your money went and not just have an idea where it went.
@jcarry5214
@jcarry5214 Жыл бұрын
right before I made my purchase a couple weeks ago I went to the counter and did the comparisons. The Burris models ran away from the vortexes at the same price optically, and the Leupolds had at best half the options. Leupold makes different choices which I can respect, and they're not chasing the crossover hunting/hobby LR market below a grand. However, comparing similarly optioned scopes made overseas, Burris really makes it look like Vortex just gave up. I was able to get my veracity because the owner was legitimately unhappy with the optical clarity, it's about on par with a 400 dollar leupold and it degrades in the cold a hair, but what I got was B+ glass with ffp, flawless dialing, reasonable hunting weight, and a reticle that allows fast MOA hits out to 600 with just holds. It's really bonkers what's in that little scope.

That's why rifles that fire from an open bolt or spring piston powered air rifles are vastly the hardest on scopes. Nothing will break a scope up inside as quickly as a high powered spring piston powered air rifle. If a scope can survive and hold zero on a magnum powered spring or gas ram air rifle it will survive any powder burner.
