4:57 - That is great advice, Mel. I work out of three locations (house, garage, storage) and got tired of dragging things back and forth (and forgetting them). Now when I settle on a tool I like, such as a tape dispenser, I buy two more for the other locations. Same tape dispensers, same box cutters, same tape, same magic markers, same pens, same garbage bags, and spares for everything. It really streamlines the workflow.

I have yet to find a tape dispenser that works for me. Luckily I don't do the volume you do! When you open a new tape, use a leftover bread bag clip to put on the tip of the tape. So easy to find the beginning of the tape and it's usually a bright color to make it easy to find, just keep replacing it as you use the tape.

Have I been overpacking my book sales? I always do cardboard on either side, or build a box, depending on what the book is. How can those books, especially the stacks of books, not be damaged in transit with no corner protection? If that's not an issue, I will definitely rethink my process. Love your energy! Wish I had a bit more of it. Regarding the sticky tape issue, I actually got a freebie tape dispenser (hand held) in a bag of bubble wrap from the recycling center. Gave it a bit of love, and it works great. However, if eBay sales are good enough this year, one of my little goals is to buy a table top one for my shipping area. Major time saver.

I don't have the storage space for the amount of books it takes to actually make some decent money and it seems like a ton of work to package and send them to customers. I've noticed over the past months now that ebay tends to list the buyers address in the wrong format; I don't know why they do this, but it is somewhat annoying. Usually I have to message the buyer to obtain the correct address. 🙄

Looks like you are using a Poly mailer for most of your shipments. I'm a new reseller can you tell me where you get them?
@backfromburnout2 жыл бұрын
Yes I use water resistant padded mailers that I buy from Australia Post

Seeing how well your clothing is selling, are you sure you're still not tempted to just dabble a little (or should I say, 'diversify')? I know clothing is a lot more work photographing and listing but you seem a lot better at it than I am; I've had a box of 50 pairs of miscellaneous jeans sitting in storage for about 2 years because, even though I only paid £6 for the whole lot, I just can't be bothered! You'd think I would have learnt to avoid impulse purchases at auctions after 20+ years...

No I don’t think so. I found another 2 bags in my storage unit today and my heart sank at the thought of dealing with it lol

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback! Vlogging is actually really quite hard but I’m much more comfortable now in front of the camera and that really helps with vlogging x

Hi Mel.... would you have a link for your Ebay Store if handy please?..... not sure if it is listed here somewhere :(
@backfromburnout2 жыл бұрын
It’s not publicly linked a because it can hurt my metrics when lots of people look but don’t buy but it’s really easy to find if you go looking as I share everything publicly here that I buy and sell 😊

Hi .do you just ship your books on padded envelopes??I think i had been over packing my books with plastic and paper and bubbles.thanks
@backfromburnout2 жыл бұрын
Yes just padded mailers. I use the official post brand ones and they are water resistant and I've sent thousands of books in these mailers and never had any issues or complaints.

There's plenty of restaurants that sell mozzarella sticks. They're yummy, but not as nice as halloumi sticks. Plus, new franchise opened up in Western Sydney called Phillez? Something like that. They do the cheese steak burgers. I think they're overpriced and didn't like them much.
@backfromburnout2 жыл бұрын
I’ve had halloumi! I love halloumi!!! When I’m in Sydney next (hopefully next month) I’ll keep my eyes open for cheese steaks!

Oh my. My heart was pounding...will you get done before you have to leave? hurry, hurry! I don't think I could do it with that much stress. I'd prefer to pack the evening before so I could have a calmer morning.

How do you keep track of which item goes in which bag??

There is a reference on each label that I do when I’m printing them so it tells me the name of the book or a shortened version that I understand :)

@gogocazz2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mel do you send all your packages tracked??
@backfromburnout2 жыл бұрын
Yes I do. All of them including DVD and CD. Sometimes on the DVD I use the green tracked envelope but if I’m time poor I print a regular label via my Australia Post. I only have Individual DVD in my store as they came from the haul, I wouldn’t normally list cheap individual DVD. So for me those items in my store are my “activity” items. They bring activity to my store. But I won’t let me store her effected by cases against me due to no tracking. It’s not worth it in my opinion.
