Would love a video on your thoughts on the Langmuir press brake and how it compares to your design

Nice! I would like to totally redesign the whole back gage! LOL...

Just found out about these press brakes. great deal for what looks like well designed machine. really wish they were 48inch. Since the ends are open, do you think it would be possible to mount a rigid 48" one piece top and bottom die and bend a thin piece longer than 33"? How long before you placed your order before it arrived? you are the only one I see on YT posting titan content :) so thanks for that :)

Honestly not sure about that but what you could do is make split in the center of the 48 and bend each half then weld back up that split. Eta on these is hit or miss expect a year or so out of

You know you're using the wrong part of the back gauge to bump your work? Your material should be on the shelf and against the back ledge of the stop, not just taping the front. Imagine your press break was industrial manufacturing size and you wanted to bend a sheet of .25" steel at 32" and its 40" wide, you wouldn't just try to suspend it in the air against the back gauge. you would need to be able to rest it on something to get the most accurate bend and youre not killing yourself trying to hold the material until the jaw clamps it in place.

not sure if you missed it but the lower face of the back gauge is only use to bend parts that are 1" are less from the center of the upper die. The overhang you get from bending that close is actually support by the lower v die. Now of course if I'm bending a part further back > 1" of course I'm going to use the upper face of the backgage which has the bottom face to support/aid the sheet material.
