Those voices are the ribbon on the package. Makes the song, voices like Angels.

Sadly, we'll never see days like this again. These singers were so amazing. They deserve great fame of their own. The documentary on Jeanie was great.

Very nostalgic. This is a gem! They had no idea at the time that they were recording something that would become a fantastic piece of music history.

Wow! Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm surprised I didn't find this earlier. Mary "Jeanie" Greene (Lee) has been a long time family friend for many years; I affectionately call her "Aunt Jeanie". However, having discovered eerie similarities and connections in our family histories, it's probably not too far fetched to say that we are actually related! She has led an interesting life, and has so many stories to tell. I was fortunate enough to capture a little bit of her life in a three part interview I did with her several years ago that I posted here on KZbin. Sadly, Jeanie is currently suffering from a weak heart and is in a nursing home under Hospice care. Prayers are appreciated.

I'm so glad to find this LOL. My best friend and I had a debate over this song. He refused to believe the backing in the song, was done by actual people. He firmly believed it was done by instruments, or computers. I kept trying to tell him it was done by legitimate background singers. So it makes me feel good to find this. Thanks uploader.

This has to be one of the all time best backing tracks, and one of the main reasons I loved Suspicious Minds so much was because of the backing vocals. I wonder if there is a rehearsal with Elvis and these ladies in it somewhere?
@freddysnip62576 жыл бұрын
The backing was overdubbed after the session took place on a later date! Here is an example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/laCom36uf9qSopo

It's hard to hear Jeanie Greene's voice apart from the other singers, which is unusual. Probably because they are singing mostly in unison and she's singing in a lower register than usual. Her voice was truly unique. She made the sound of any backing group unique. I think that is her greatest contribution to rock 'n soul. (Let me make a plug for a recording, that is on KZbin, that she made at Sun studios when she was 13 years old. It's under her real name "Mary Johnson - River Of No Return" She plays piano too. Her voice is so different from her adult voice. It's beautiful.)

There are other youtube videos with her, in fact, if I look to the right of where I'm typing, I see one, an interview with her. She deserved far-ranging recognition.

The switch that I have mentioned that one other person has mentioned that made me look into the switch that's in Asians that avoids PTSD after wars is their ability to switch on and off. I wish to disclose this switch with you I'm running out of time until I kidnap time and make everyone pay to know what time it is until then time is not on my side but one day it will be on my side. The switch that the Asians have in their consciousness is through DNA life experience of killing each other since the beginning of dawn not for beliefs not for propaganda but for the real things in life we're going to steal your land and kill you and enslave you and take your food. The switch is something everyone believes anyway the mind becometh what it thinketh the switch is switching off the idea of God and switching it back on when times are good and hello and goodbye will be accepted one day as a greeting saving time avoiding the awkward it's time for me to go are you going already why don't you have another beer just leave mysteriously cuz you already said goodbye when you said hello
