Backlighting a 98" TV Lytmi Fantasy 3 HDMI LED Sync Kit Install & review

I have wanted one of these for a long time, even on my old tv, but I really hated the look of a big camera sticking out on top of it aiming at the screen. That is how some of these things get their signal. The HDMI and FireTV combo made it possible to achieve it without the tacky camera AND it works better too. HDMI has been an option for a while but we primarily use the built in apps on the tv which don't work because the box itself has to have some sort of input. I decided to try Firetv on it so I can get all the same apps we use daily but not have to use the built in ones. It is much faster than those onboard apps and has more features so this worked out great. If you buy one of these and have any questions, just ask! I know it ain't rocket science but dammit sometimes the easiest stuff is a pain when the instructions are bad.

What setup did you use as the gradient hue lightstrip only goes up to 75 inches

@@torqpoc2543 I got the 1 for 75" installed it like if it was a 75" plus 3 smart lights bars (12" each 1) on the bottom.

It would definitely take some time getting used to, but I dig it. The lighting definitely gives the video on the TV a bunch more depth ❤ This is my first time ever seeing anything like this other than just a solid color. Pretty cool effects, I bet it's wild sitting in front of it. 😂

Devices like this work fine but if you have a firestick you'd use it in place of that. If you had a FireTV for instance you'd stop using the built in Fire and use the box's fire with its extra processing etc. If for some reason you needed to use your firestick you would plug it into the box most likely that way you still get the lighting effects but it would be mostly redundant unless it was modified for instance.

How does this compare to the philips hue ?? I have a philips hue system that has arc function also

no idea. Never owned that one. Just this one. I don't think the Hue system has ARC though.

@@meade916 very similar effects the philips hue system has additional bulbs and lights you can sink together to make the whole room ambient.. but props to your build it's amazing 👏

I have the Hue system and every light source in the room is also a Hue product. Having the rooms lights working with the TV system really does make a big difference.

Govee uses a camera so any picture on the screen it will pick up I have it on my tv

you can definitely see that big ugly arm with a camera on it from the bottom. I'll pass. Plus, HDMI is way more accurate.
