Just returned the 24-70 an hour ago to get the 28-70 as i know i'd regret the 24-70 after a bit so sucked it up and spent the extra money to have the extra stop when i want it. Great video.

I hike a lot on Rocky Mountains in Canada. I currently am using an old canon 6d and a 16 35 f4 lens, and a 50 mm f1.4 lens. I usually lets the camera with the 50mm lens hanging on my chest during hiking, so I can take pictures on the way up the mountain. When on the summit I will replace the 50 mm with the big 16 35 mm lens to take wide angle pictures.. But I don’t know how to take good pictures with the big lens, it seems I have to put people in the middle and have to use f8 and up. I would like to see more of your videos on the big lens. Thank you very much!
@SergeyBidun
@SergeyBidun 4 жыл бұрын
For hiking, it's a good setup that you have. If you are not shooting for a paid job, you don't need a heavy and big lens, especially if you are shooting at f8 most of the time. 50mm 1.4 is more than enough to take portraits from time to time. I use big lenses such as 28-70mm, 70-200mm, and 85mm 1.2 to create portraits with a beautiful blur and big compression and have the ability to shoot with an open aperture such as 1.2, 2.0, and 2.8. I use these lenses only for paid photoshoots and projects. I would not bring a big lens to a hike or a family trip.

Hi Sergey. Unreal pics bro. Thinking to buy this lens but I'm normally 70-200 shutter as I love compressed and blurred backgrounds. I can see this lens can handle my needs pretty well. What focal length you have used during this session. Looks like you shoot them all at 70mm is that right?

Sergey,nice work Bro. Just a suggestion for you to make all of your videos in English as I dont understand your native language.I really wanted to understand what youve you've said in your 28 70 lens review video but since it wasnt in English,I couldn't understand a thing. I always look forward to your videos.Though you have a limited audience you'll reach a wide audience Bro.Just keep doing what you do.Better days are ahead of you.I appreciate the time effort that goes into presenting valuable content.Dont ever think of not posting videos just because your channels growing a slower pace.We're always there to support you brother. With regard to this video,I have queries about this lens the 28 70. Is this lens heavy to carry for everyday outdoor photos of on streets?Does this feel heavy,if so after holding on for how long? Does the image have a certain feel or character to it?I have a 24 70 canon lens.But I felt that the images with your lens looks razor sharp with the image looking good as the extra stop is really helpful. But I'm not sure whether I should make a switch to the lens you possess.I've saved up until now and I need 4 weeks to make a purchase. Is it better to go for 50mm lens and zoom with ones feet rather than carrying a bulky lens around Is the lens practically usable as I'm 5ft 2 inches tall.(average height).I'm a lanky guy.I'm thinking of having one lens that does the job rather than switching prime lenses as I feel switching lenses slows down my pace of work. To be more specific,I take photos of people and every day motion of life on the street.I can't specifically point a genre but something along the lines of Steve McCurry. The main things Im looking for is - 💧Sharp clear images (not necessarily like 1.4 like images) that's worth for making prints and books. 💧Good focal range 💧Good for daily usage.Should handle wear and tear and remain good. 💧Quick to capture the moment rather than focus on pixel counts. 💧Lens thats sturdy but not overtly heavy (they say the 28 70 is a beast of a lens.Is it actually super heavy or is it a hype?) 💧Take images of spontaneous moments of regular people walking or doing their daily chores on the street. 💧Less distortion of people's faces and lines. Bro I'm a person who believes in using minimal resources and make optimal use of it in the long run.I've used my 28 70 for 2.5 years now,my 85 for 3 years.So I hope you get an idea of what my requirements are.I intend to sell my 24 70 and replace it with something better. So bro,can you suggest your unbiased thoughts and help me out. Sergey thanks ahead in time and advance.God bless.

Thank you so much for the support, I appreciate it! That video in Russian language was just me unpacking Canon EOS r6 with Canon 28-70mm lens, I wasn't doing a review on it as I haven't shot with it yet. I haven't shot enough with 28-70 to see how it will adapt to my photography style, so I can't give a full overview. Here are a few points that I've noticed so far: It's a big lens and pretty heavy. If shooting with this lens for a long time, your hands will definitely feel the weight. I like that this lens is really sharp and really fast. It creates beautiful bokeh, which is what I like for my portraits. This lens covers almost four lenses if you don't want to carry all different lenses with you all the time and OK to carry one big lens. I was looking for 1 lens so I won't have to carry multiple lenses to different project shoots. But the final decision is on your personal preference. Me personally, I like 28-70 way more than 24-70 lens. This lens replaces me 24mm fixed, 35mm fixed, 50mm fixed and 24-70mm. For wider shots I'm using 15-35mm. I'm planning to shoot more with this lens and will be posting more videos with this lens.

@@SergeyBidun Cool! Appreciate your honesty,Bro. The lens is one of a kind.I'd rather have 1 spouse rather than fiddling with multiple ones.✌ When you have one (lens/spouse),you value it more and make optimal use of it.This lens is like scriptures coming to life- "Carry your own cross". I hope this lens pays off in the long run as Its a big upfront investment. Looking forward to more vids on the lens,Bro. Peace✌.

I didn't realize that the R6 could go down to 50 iso. Sounds like a great feature to me. Back in the dark dark days of film and paper I used to often shoot on 64, 50 and 25 iso films. I miss that low range! How do the 50 ISOs compare to 100 ISO shots? My insta: instagram.com/tonygrantpix
