Drinking through reed straws like that is actually one of the oldest recorded methods of drinking alcohol. The sumerians used the same method over 5000 years ago. The purpose of the straws is that the undrinkable waste material floats to the top, while the alcoholic liquid stays at the bottom in extremely unfiltered beer and wine. Fascinating to see ancient practices like that live on even today.

MY NAME IS JOEL OBERTAN, A KZbinR FROM KAMPALA UGANDA. he posted 10 videos in a row about the same topic with some very suspect thumbnails. He's also clearly got a strange, creepy obsession with Habesha (Ethiopian and Eritrean) and Somali women, and can't for the life of him understand why they don't want to date and marry Ugandan men. But I must admit, he's a character indeed, and I keep watching him.

I visited Uganda a few times in 1985 and 1986, just after the civil war under Milton Obote's regime had ended and Museveni had taken power. Virtually the only thing you could buy in Kampala market at that time were shampoos and skin lightening creams that the big pharmaceutical companies had dumped in the country. It was a truly sobering expeience. One time I travelled from Entebbe by dugout canoe on Lake Victoria to visit Makusa Island, where Idi Amin used to have a villa. The building was in ruins and only a few fishermen lived on the island, but the most remarkable feature was that every bush and tree was covered in a white, almost transparent film, like a muslin cloth. It turned out they were spider's webs. Millions of them. That and the amazing large trees outside the Kampala Sheraton which lost all their leaves as dusk approached, were my two most vivid memories of the country. The "leaves" were bats flying off to eat their breakfast after sleeping all day.

Ben, I am not a youtuber myself, but I work in factories and we all have stations that they put us in....some are more permanent, but some are just for a few days, and in those stations, there are different people working. I definitely have my favorite people that I prefer to be partnered with for the day and sometimes I get people who I dont much care for. Bald might be gone for now, but he will be back. Just like at my work, take some pleasure in the fact that you occasionally get someone to work with that is good to you, good for you and cares about you. That is a treasure. At the same time, your videos are great on their own without Bald. Bald is like the cherry on top, but its not what makes the rest so great. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right?
