This video was one of the primary motivators each day I set at my desk job thinking, "I will do that full time, I will begin living life instead of just grinding for a couple day vacation". I'm currently on month 3 of 9 of my Southeast Asia backpacking trip in Krabi, Thailand. Thanks for this video Carlos!

If you didn't get a reply, I have just returned from se asia. Budgeted 1000k per month, I would say Thailand is one of the more expensive with Vietnam being the cheapest by a long shot! :) Hope you managed to go or are planning too!

do you think 30k usd would be enough for 6 months traveling around SEA?

Oh by far enough! What sort of accommodation are you planning on staying in, how are you travelling between countries, and what sort of things do you plan on doing (tour groups, drinking, etc etc)?

Age of 38, Have been traveling quite many places trying to challenge as much as I can in those trips. In many of his videos, I can see myself overrapped on their happy faces since I'd done quite many things like they did on the video. Love to do Scuba diving, surfing, riding motor bike, outdoor activities...above all love to meet new people and taste little bit of their life while traveling. But still an ordinary person who teaches English for living in Korean as no one. And strong temptation to quit all of this and live like this person. Can I still be like this amazing person.....

Thank you for sharing your video. I am a Social Studies teacher here in Manila and I used your video to my class to make them understand what it feels like to travel to the other countries of Southeast Asia since we are talking about the history of Southeast Asia. They are now so intrigued by your video and told me that they asked their parents to spent their summer vacation in the countries you have visited. One only question we have is why don't you try to visit in our country the Philippines. It's more fun here! again thanks for sharing your video!

Hey, its great to hear form people like you, thanks for liking my work! Unfortunately we didn't have the time to visit the Philippines but it's a place I want to go, so when I go to the Philippines I might give you a shout to know what places to visit, again thanks a lot!

I feel like traveling has become a very ego-centric thing with the raise of social media. All i see everywhere is people walking around taking selfies and filming themselves and blogging about themselves and making KZbin videos about themselves. Feels like the main reason to travel is to show others that they have a great time instead of learning something by making experiences and processing them.
@jc4502210 жыл бұрын
agreed.
@grasizoks10 жыл бұрын
I see from a totally different way. I see people discovering themself, I see people conecting to other people, I see people falling in love with different cultures, I see people understanding that it is OK to explore the world "alone", because you will actually never be alone. When you travel by yourself the great things you will remember will be the people you met in your journey, and believe me when backpacking you get to know much more people. And I do think that people take all this pictures and videos just because they really love what they are doing.
@tuubz10 жыл бұрын
What's wrong with capturing good memories...? I smell jealousy
@earlgrey213010 жыл бұрын
- TUUBZ - Nothing. Capturing memories is fine. Making your entire trip about your appearance on social media is not. Example: I've been hiking in the french alps. I started very early with a few others, so we could see the sunrise when we reached the first mountain pass. So we are up there, over 2000 meters high.. amazing view. It's cold, the air smells like snow. It's totally quiet. And the sun starts to break through over the mountains on the horizon and it coloured everything in the most amazing colours. It was a magic moment. I just wanted to sit there in silence and enjoy it. The other two didn't look at all the beauty ONCE. They spent the entire time with their backs against the sunrise, making funny faces into their cameras, filming themselves and shouting stuff like "Yo wazzup my homies! I'm on some mountain in france and it's the fucking shit up here yo! I am totaly living the dream man! See more videos on KZbin shortly!" They completely ruined the moment, missed it all and i just kept wondering why they even travel in the first place. I feel like you go out into the world to experience and connect. Not to produce an elaborate collection of videos that make you look good online. I don't know. Nothing against capturing memories. It just goes too far sometimes. Producing videos and selfies shouldn't be your main priority while travelin in my opinion.
@tuubz10 жыл бұрын
Aaah, I agree that's not the right way to enjoy a vacation. There should be a right balance between capturing moments for later and enjoying the trip on the moment it's self. Good example btw, I can understand the frustration :)

I’m just aware of others cultures and something I wouldn’t do, simply.
