Backpacking Daisetsuzan's Kurodake: Sunrise, Sunset, and Night Sky Adventure.

On June 19-20, 2024, I embarked on a 1-night, 2-day backpacking adventure to Daisetsuzan's Kurodake. Using the Kurodake Sounkyo Ropeway, I first explored Kurodake, then set up my tent at the Kurodake Ishimuro Hut, and finally hiked to the Ohachidaira Observatory. I experienced the majestic nature, stunning sunsets, night sky, and breathtaking sunrise.
Note: The official opening of the Kurodake Ishimuro Hut in 2024 is from June 22 to September 30.
Tips for Hiking in Daisetsuzan:
Bring a portable toilet.
Carry bear bells and bear spray.
Ensure you have ample water and food supplies.
