Great job, really enjoyed that! Like the format and the narration. You had a great sunrise as well! Glad the pack worked out!

Yeah the top of that mountain you were on has a lot of vegetation. Blair Valley is cool...I spent about 10 days car camping there once (brought enough food/water to stay). Coyotes and kangaroo rats at night. Tons of car camping sites by the road and the road is not too difficult for cars (at least the western part of the loop). The place I camped is near the trail to Ghost Mountain/Marshall South - there's a huge boulder right by the camp, easily spottable from satellite images. I know someone who traversed the entire santa rosa ridgeline - started at toro, crossed Dawns, Rabbit and came down the Villager ridgeline. His wife picked him up at the bottom. I think we got the idea from Jerry Schad - who mentioned it in a side comment to one of his hiking articles. I was always mentioning the traverse to him, but I never had the confidence/strength to do it.

@@inthedirt3224 it’s a great area. I saw the trip report from the Santa Rosa traverse. It was incredible! The bushwhacking alone would be a massive obstacle let alone water caching. Thanks for watching.

Epic trip. Enjoy the long format. I also share your philosophy having hiked solo and with groups. Solo is great for enjoying the exploration rather than crunching the miles. Thanks for taking us along. Anza Borrego is a treasure.

@@chili1593 Glad you liked it. And I couldn’t agree more about AB. One of my favorite places.

You’re making me yearn for the desert again. I sold my Aeon Li after a few trips to the desert. The geometry was finicky. Sure was light for the Wonderland Trail, though. Glad to see another trip video from you. Thank you for sharing.

@@100Peaks I agree about the Aeon. It’s hard to get a good pitch on anything but perfectly flat ground. One site corner too high or low throws the whole thing off. Not forgiving like the Altaplex. Thanks for watching. I’m hoping to get back out there again soon.

Very cool camp spot! Hiking off trail in ABSP is one of our favorite types of hiking. Funny, I've never backpacked alone. Always been with at least one other person. Great video!

Nice look back at last season. It's almost time to get out there again! All those juniper berries are making me want to drink some gin.

@@brian-1036 yes! I’m ready. Hendricks is my favorite gin. Might need a flask on the next trip.

Great hike. I really enjoyed seeing some AB again. Did you park on the road that leads to Whale?

@@thewolfe1099 I parked on the road leading to Little Blair Valley. It was really nice that weekend.

Beautiful views! Looks like a great hike. Not surprised that you liked the Arc-Haul. I love mine and my Arc-Blast. I would have been surprised if you had completed that trip without getting stabbed by one of those many plants that are out to get you!

I really like the Arc series of packs. I have the Blast also and both are very comfortable. I got off easy with only a few pokes! Thanks for watching.
