I had only learned about The Enchantments this summer, and had done the Colchuck Lake already, when I came across some of your Washington trails videos, I decided to open you tube on my tv and ended up watching more of your videos all morning before work today, honestly your videos doesn’t bore me at all as I learned too much from them. This segment made me emotional when I saw your your emotions when you made it up and past Aasgard Pass. You are so very detailed, keep it up and you GUAC it girl!!! This video really made me to go for the Traverse!!! Hope I get to win the lotto for it otherwise, it will be a dayhike (next summer for sure) , I have subscribed already and will be going back again and again for tips as I unlock my way to discovering Washington States more. Two thumbs to you!!! Enjoy and safe hiking all the time!!! Likes will be done when I go back and watch your videos again. And thank you for sharing your wonderful journeys!!! Love all the way from Surrey, BC

Have been lucky to get a pass 7 times in my 30 years of hiking here. It is my favorite place to backpack in all of Washington State. The air mattress are the biggest waste of money everyone I know that uses one leaks on them. I camp at Perfection Lake and the mosquitoes are always really bad.

love it, so if you have some yarrow growing around you it kinnda easy to make some bug repellent, just give it 8-9 days in some 100 proof and put it in a spray bottle.

We got a core but it was early late June so we couldn’t hike over the pass but stayed in colchuck for two nights, three days. It was amazing! We didn’t get in this year unfortunately

you did a way better job then I did when you summited Aasgard pass. I got on my knees and started sobbing with how emotional it was lol

It's the type of place to bring out the big feelings for sure

What about hiking to Colchuck only, do we need a permit for that as well ahead of time ?

This is soo soo beautiful. Really happy for you. What month was this? Did you by any chance treat your gear with permethrin that could help with bugs?
@wanderingwashington8 ай бұрын
Hi, this was the end of July, timing for snow and bugs can vary year to year by quite a lot so take that all into consideration. I did not treat, I have a lot of chemical sensitivities so permethrin and other bug repellents aren't something I can use.

We managed to score a 5 day Core permit last August. Without a doubt the trip of a lifetime! It's brutal hike but worth all the pain.

Aasgard almost killed me. Took nearly 5 hours to get up.

😅Enchantments permits have become an urban legend. 8 years trying, all zones, maximum flexibility with zero results.
