Backpacking The Via Alpina 1 | Elm - Richetlipass - Linthal - part 3 | Wild Camping |

Welcome to part 3 of our Swiss Alpine adventure in the Swiss Alps, we hike from Elm to Linthal via the amazing Richetlipass. The descent down from the Richelipass is very hard as its very steep downhill for about 1 and a half hours but so worth it, we finally made it to Linthal to complete 3 sections of the Via Alpina 1. I've just watched all three videos and I'm so pleased that you did get to travel to Switzerland and walk the sections of the Swiss Alpine Pass Trail that you had planned. It seems an age ago that we exchanged messages about my experience on the trail and I am so pleased to see that you managed to get over the Richetlipass and loved the journey that you followed. The trail definitely passes through wilder countryside in the east of Switzerland and when you return you'll notice that it passes through much more chocolate box type scenery. Beautiful of course, but not as wild feeling. Well done on three great videos.

Thanks for watching Morgs, that was definitely the toughest but the most enjoyable backpacking we have ever done we loved every second of it. We have been to Switzerland several times before but it was our first time hiking over there. When we got off the train in Sargans it was a strange feeling not knowing where we were going to sleep that night it was a proper adventure and a great feeling, thankfully we found campsite for the 3 nights we were there. We had planned to go back this year but sadly it’s not possible but we are definitely going back in 2025. Thanks for the advice you gave us before it was very useful 👍 ATB Simon & Mark

Yep, that's a hell of a camp spot you got there. Definitely on the list of places to visit. The REI tent looked like fitted right into that environment. I know how difficult these hikes are but if they were easy, we wouldn't do em would we? 🤣 But all worth it for views like that. Well done fellas, atb.

Cheers Dave and thanks for watching it is stunning and we can’t wait to go back 😁, it isn’t cheap over there mainly the food - it’s around £6-£7 for a beer which I can handle but we had a whopper meal each in Burger King in Zurich and it was about £18 each which I think is ridiculous tbh and the meals in the restaurants are really expensive, we didn’t eat a lot tbh 😂😂😂 ATB Mark & Simon 👍👌😁

Hi thanks for watching 👍 from Sargans to Weistannen there are no wild camping spots but if you travel a bit further on like we did we camped by Alp Siez ( a bar and restaurant. Which also has rooms) the next 2 sections weistannen - Elm and Elm to Linthal there are plenty of camping spots along the way. But if you camp up high just make sure you take water with you 👍
