hunting with you is always like being there, i can almost smell that wet bush ! that "patch of bush" almost always delivers a deer , but always delivers a great hunt. thanks for taking us with you.

No worries Greg, it's frustrating at times with the camera, as I feel there is so much I don't get to film at times. Then its what to edit out to make it interesting for people to watch. Hopefully getting that mix right ✅️ . Cheers for watching and appreciate your comments 👍

Awesome video BRB! Great tips, great footage and it felt like I was there. Love your attitude mate! 👍Really enjoyed it especially after having a poor roar this year! 👍

Where did you adventure to this roar Darrell??
@darrellwong40975 ай бұрын
We have a week in the Tauranga Taupo every year. We just got out on Monday. Last there were plenty of deer around and shot a few. This year we hardly saw any or even heard many.😥 Most of the ones we heard were quite distant…. Next year!

Do you think you possibly missed the peak rut?
@darrellwong40975 ай бұрын
Possibly although the huts around us seemed to do well. We were here last year at that time and did well. The other possibility is that there are some wild dogs on our block. We didn’t take any notice of the signs in the hut about that but I noticed a comment in the hut book about mauled dead deer on the ridge behind the hut as we were leaving… Don’t really know to be honest.

Another quality production thank you mate. Dog did well. It took me a few years to learn but I always trust my dog. I'm pretty sure she'd have found it if you'd smacked it.

Had a chuckle about forgetting the gps... "geographically embarrassed" comment. My roar involved a big overnight walk in andI developed a sneaky suspicion that something was missing from my pack. Sure enough, turns out it was my kill kit including my only knife. Specialness. I now pack two knives packed separately. Funny that.Interesting to see deflections from a 308. Had it with 223 and 7mm08. I feel your pain. Great stag, well done!

Cheers Snoop, I have a phone app/map, but honestly it's all over the place sometimes. I'm now stressed I might have hit the stag and relying to heavily on my dog? Who knows, another chapter in the hunting book

@@BackridgeButcherAlways trust the dog. He's gonna follow the deer until he either finds it, or it keeps on moving away (depending on the lethality of the shot). I've had a couple I've had to follow up with the dog. One hind we trailed for an hour and had two sightings before I pulled him off (it was moving well). The other, a stag, we got in a river about 30 minutes after the first shot. You just don't know sometimes what's happened with the bullet right.

Thanks for the video, your content is always enjoyable to watch, and informative, often seems like theres items missing or forgotten in the old pack!?, touch wood i havnt forgotten the bolt YET!, like most ppl ive gotta wait another year for the next roar 😢, keep on truckin, cheers, greg

Awesome videos Glenn and Little Red, that wind is a pain. I reckon it is the ones we don't secure that we remember the most, and it churns away in our minds over and over. It was neat that your old battler kept coming in to you, as you say they don't get old by being silly. We were in the mid Kaweka's and the 19th was the day they went off, it then rained and they stayed quiet for the next 4 days, I was wondering what the date was you had your encounter with those 5 stags? Take care and look forward to the next edition, very much enjoyed and looked forward to!

Yep my mate has lost a few top stags, the last 180 to 200DS, we had it on game cam, he was broken for a week after that & needs "on going therapy" sadly that stag was a hit & not seen in 2 years,,☹
