I had the pleasure of sharing a meal with Charlie Daniels in 1997. There was limited seating in the Varsity in Atlanta downtown, so he invited me to sit with him. We talked for well over an hour, and I was thoroughly impressed with his demeanor and the way he made me feel at home. RIP, Mr Daniels.

Grandpa Jones died on February 19 1998 which was my 32nd birthday. Mr Jones gave me much pleasure while watching The Grand Ole Opry on The Nashville Network. I wish I had the vocabulary to state how much I miss those days of watching The Opry on TNN. TO me, it made Saturday night. Then on Sunday it was time to watch Dale Earnhardt. Miss those days indeed.

To bad Conway Twitty didn’t heed the warning his body was giving him. He didn’t know he had an undetected Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm that was leaking his blood into his abdominal cavity. He complained to his wife of discomfort in his stomach area. He was in Missouri and was traveling back to Nashville but told his wife he could wait till they got back to Tennessee. By the time he got there, he was bleeding out inside his body and eventually died. Most people never know they have an aneurysm until it’s to late. My Urologist accidentally found mine in 2003 and was eventually repaired in 2011. I’m 80yo now and my repair job is still perfect at my last checkup in August 2023. George C Scott never knew he had one, neither did the brilliant Albert Einstein and died because of it.

Another terrific program. Thank you for your work. With that said. A Grand Ole Opry program must start and finish with the King of Country Music. Mr. Acuff. He is the only person in The Grand Ole Opry and The Country Music Hall of Fame that you refer to as "Mr". Thank you

Hey, as Earnest Tubb once said, I don't mind ya callin me a hillbilly, but ya better smile when ya say it. 😉 I'm a hillbilly through and through, and proud of it! Yeah, people think we're dumb, uneducated or ignorant, but that false assumption always comes back to bite them in the posterior! 😂😂😂👍

Conway Twitty got his stage name by yhrowing darts at the map. That is what he told a tv host while sitting next to George Jones, and it was a joke between the 2 and then with the fans.

conway was my fave singer, i had seen him countless times, when he was here in Md. it's discusting that he had no beautiful grave, yet alone a headstone/monument like alot of the country stars did, Dee claims he did not want that, I say bullsh*t he deserved to be laid to rest with the same glorious monument / headstone with his name Conway Twitty on it! what did he get., a vault in a wall and a plaque saying harold jenkins!!! so discusting
@robinanders4170 Жыл бұрын
I agree 💯%, I am a MD. girl and I made sure I had tickets to see him. My parents treated me to tickets to see him on my tenth birthday. The show was amazing. I just had to see his show when he rolled in our town. I still listen to him today. I just love his music. Thanks for sharing this video, I plan to pay my respects to him after I move further south in the near future.

@@annwalker317 even if it wasn't what he wanted, he should have had a beautiful monument, with his name that we all knew him by, his wife evidently didn't give it a second thought!
