The thing about this video man... it's so immersive. Many backrooms videos feel the necessity to have a plot, but the chaotic nature of this video is so perfect. It's the amalgamation of the fear, the anxiety, the confusion, that backrooms are supposed to give us

Oh, well... okay, I have to admit, that maybe this isn't the most traditional "The Backrooms" short. I've worked in hospitals almost all of my working life, and the older hospitals (usually the older ones) all had basements to transport patients from one building to another without having to go outside, especially in the winter or middle of the night. They were also used to take bodies to the morgue which was generally on that floor as well. Your corridors were so exceptionally well done, and they brought that horrifying experience to mind. I used to have to go into those tunnels all of the time and hated them. You caught that ambience perfectly. I loved this although it gave me major creeps.. Subscribing now. Thank you! AND Hallelujah!!! someone in one of these backroom creations with a flashlight. I realize that most people didn't intend to end up here and don't randomly carry flashlights, but it made ME feel safer - ha ha!

There’s certainly something to be said about the universal experience of walking through dark corridors alone! You might be interested in checking out a channel called bedtime stories. There are a number of videos about nurses sharing about their paranormal experiences they had while working in hospitals. Creepy and fascinating stories. Thanks for watching!

This is the most impressive animation I have seen from the backrooms. The horror here is unsettling it gives me early 2000's ghost video vibes of a demon that had hands crawling from the floor and walls. It was like a 2010's or earlier youtube video. KZbin buried the video, but it was amazing.

The first minute had me hooked...This is one of the better Backrooms films. I loved it! It starts off action packed and tapers off properly. The only thing I can critique is that lack of character emotions. I didn't feel that my emotions translated on the screen. A normal person would've freaked out and would have been breathing much harder. Also, they probably would be talking to themselves or thinking aloud, trying to rationalize what's happening. Missed opportunity: When the monster surprised after watching the cartoon, you should've screamed. It scared me. I can only image how afraid the character should've been, seeing it in real life.

This found footage has a few problems: The running speed abruptly increases at some points wacky transitions in between different areas entities around every corner no break from any entities; just every second is entities the concepts of the locations are quite cliche: abandoned hospital, level 0, run for your life type hallways etc. the vhs distortion thingy is looped paranormal shit happens in cliche moments entities also appear to be faster; one minute their quite far away, next minute theyre literally right behind them yk that spike scene? that guy looked like he woulda been stabbed, but he wasnt, how? the good things about this: the use of liminal space was quite good. took alot of inspiration from Kane Pixels, and i like it The concept of the actual location itself is ok-ish. great touch of detail on some parts Although I truly understand that you may not be a nessecarily good vfx artist, this was like a "not good" kind of attempt on making a found footage short film.

There is some that I would say capture the backrooms even better, but less in the very prevailent "creature" horror, which this video is one of the best ones I would say, and more in the conceptual level capturing the sheer desolation, isolation and emptiness of that place.

While there definitely is a good amount of goofy stuff, The beginning had me suspect to be dealing with the usual backrooms video, the hallways part? That was art. That was the single best use of a non eucleadian space in horror I have ever seen. The way it turned from an endless hallway to every hallway being the same to a complete breakdown of "reality"? That knocked it out of the park an i am stunned. The sheer creepyness of it had me honestly getting goosebumbs. For that part of this video I have nothing but admiration.

Got this little film recommended to me. Always nice to see new backrooms content, even though it's been six months since you psted this. Better late than never I guess. Anyhow, you have really nailed the camera movement. Can't get better than this, the most realistic I've seen so far. 10 of 10. Also nice to see that you've taken certain liberties with this property and showing us more than the standard yellow setting. And 13.40 and onwards, talk about Escher-esque confusion. Well done! This was exquisitely unsettling. I get off on impossible architectures the way average people do pornography. It all goes back to my teens and early twenties, when I used to take ‘heroic’ doses of LSD multiple times per week , for nearly six years. Anyroad, you have generated the most compelling models of liminal and higher-dimensional spaces than any I’ve seen, especially in the cinematic medium . I’m a clever bloke, and I understand how most film effects are done, but some of the geometric structures you’ve established here admittedly baffle me-in the most satisfying way. I absolutely revel in it. I hope to see a feature film someday in a world of impossible geometries. I think if I were put in charge of adapting Lovecraft’s ‘At the Mountains Of Madness’ for film, I would put you in charge of designing the Old Ones’ lost city on the Antarctic plateau, beyond those first high mountains. I will be following your career with enthusiastic interest.
@HaydenLee

I’m going to have to give that lovecraft novella a read. Glad you enjoyed the hallway scene. There’s something to be said about cinema’s ability to capture the feeling of psychedelic experiences despite the limitations of the medium. Altered States, Enter the Void and of course 2001 are all wonderful films in this regard. Thanks for the wonderful feedback!
@riphopfer5816
@riphopfer5816 Жыл бұрын
@@HaydenLee Don’t forget the brilliant ‘Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas’. I think you’ll enjoy ‘Mountains Of Madness’. I’m a Lovecraft fanatic; I love nearly everything he wrote. However, ‘Mountains Of Madness’ is probably the most realistic-feeling thing he’d ever written. My four favourite Lovecraft works are: ‘Mountains Of Madness’, ‘Colour Out Of Space’, ‘Dunwich Horror’, and ‘Case Of Charles Dexter Ward’. All of them both contain elements analogous to deep psychedelic experiences (I have been obsessed with cephalopods AND with the art of M.C. Escher, and with geometric peculiarities like Klein bottles, so it is no coincidence psychedelic states would evoke such imagery), and are just brilliantly thought-out stories. If you like audiobooks, the finest reader of Lovecraft online is a bloke named Ian Gordon; he hails from the same bit of England as I. He has narrated and recorded every last Love raft story on Earth, including some very rare collaborations of which I was stunned to find him aware. If you’d like to listen whilst commuting, or working on something mindless, that you may immerse yourself in the tales, just search ‘HorrorBabble’ and the name of the story. Alternatively, all the tales may be read online for free at several websites, if you prefer to take in the story via your eyeholes. Either way, I hope you find even a fraction of the pleasure I’ve found in his work-though I fear many of the tropes have become cliche’s via social media, and I lament you’ll never know the joy of discovering Lovecraft in the 90s, before everyone knew what, for example, Cthulhu was.

The ONLY thing I have to say as constructive criticism is: maybe have hands touch door handles when they "reach out" and open a door. Lol Like, when it is the Backrooms/invisible entity opening their own doors, it makes sense to not see a hand, but when the camera moves as if someone is leaning in to turn the handle and the handle turns without a hand, it's a little jarring. Lol Otherwise, this is definitely one of the best out there!

I want an Infinite horror game as detailed as those found footage, and and feel the fear, the loneliness of the backrooms in a labyrinthic random mess, and lose my mind to it. in which you have thousands of different ways to escape the backrooms and even more not to escape them. Wandering for hours and hours in loops until one of a sudden you discover a new level, to finally end up into the level 999 of the first cluster, that tiny island lost in space.
