How about one more Part that covers the best settings if you don't have a strobe. I purchased an Ikelite dome lens with an FCON T02 Fisheye lens for my TG-7, but I don't have the budget for the strobe. Having settings for this setup seems like it would be really helpful to wannabes like me who are just starting out with underwater photography. Thanks for making great, high quality tutorials.

Just got myself a TG camera and I’m trying to learn by watching the videos. My question is do I have to do a full reset each time I use it? That’s where each video starts. Wouldn’t that erase the save settings in C1 and C2?

Hello. I would like to ask your opinion regarding questions about lights for underwater photo and video. I am an amateur photographer and use my material 70% for photography and 30% for video. I have been using Olympus cameras, compact, for about 14 years (TG-6 today). At the moment I use two Inons D2000 strobes, which I like a lot, and a X-Adventurar M2500 spotlight, due to the fact that it has Snoot, red light and auto-shut-off function. however, I am practically without light when I want to make videos. I have followed the new lights from Weefine (Solar Flare 12000), Kraken (Solar Flare Mini 12000) and X-adventurer (M8000 and M15000) for having the flash function and being able to add the ambient filters. My questions are: - Is it worth investing in these lights and let Inon flashes? - As an amateur, it is worth going for 12000 lumen or I can stay for 8000 lumens (in both cases I will buy 2 lights)) - When used in Strobe mode, do they imitate a constant light or is the light off? I ask this because sometimes, in photography, fish can escape when they feel the lights, which is why I use the red light of the M2500. - Using in strobe mode, will the M2500 still use the Auto-shut-off function? Which set would you choose to use on the TG-6, with 70% use for photography and 30% for video? I apologize for so much question. With my best regards, I keep your feedback, Heitor Amaral.

If I know the kelvin value of my lamps, setting the WB with that specific value is a good option to keep for a wide range of shoots with low ambient light? I see that there is an option in the TG-7 to set specific kelvin value.

Hi, you can either set your kelvin to the value of your video lights or you can capture a manual white balance to an evenly exposed, neutrally toned scene with your lights on (like sand, a grey scuba cylinder, bare rock). That's the beautiful thing about the TG-6. There is absolutely no need for any additional macro lens. They add literally nothing to the capabilities of this camera.

Hi, I would like some advice. I'm undecided whether to buy a Go Pro 12 or the Olympus TG7. What do you recommend? I would use it for photographing landscapes and especially for snorkeling. Can filters be mounted on the Olympus TG7? Thank you

If you are more interested in video, get the GoPro. If you are more interested in photo, get the TG-7. There is no need for a filter on the TG-7 because it can capture a custom white balance instead.

"Save these settings for wide angle video to c1 and macro video to c2". Is there a way to save a third setting in case I want to switch to macro/wide angle photographs (not video) during the same dive?

There's not a 3rd custom setting slot available to save to, but you can always just go straight to that mode (in this case, Aperture Priority mode) instead of using the C1 or C2 positions and adjust your settings accordingly.

Video mode is always auto exposure. There is no way to guarantee what the shutter speed will be in video mode. No news about TG-7 yet.
