This casting director is an actual human and her sincerity is truthful. Very nice person she seems to be and that is so necessary, some cstg directors actually despise actors.

Oh and giving yourself a cut off time when filming self tape. This has been my biggest struggle with self tape. Lighting, Equipment and a cut off mark will reduce your time immediately.

I’m auditioning for Newsies soon, and I’m using the song “I’m Your Man” from Meet John Doe, and I’ve been really nervous about it because the song is so bold, I’m literally saying, “Anything you need done I’m the one for the job!” And I’m scared I won’t be able to hold up to that, but I think if I promise it, I will. Thank you for giving me more confidence. Casting directors work with bold choices and hopefully will work with mine edit: I did get a callback, though just for ensemble, I'm still really grateful and super excited!

All of this is very helpful. I have auditions today and this has helped me prepare more and I feel like I already got to know allot about you in this video. I love how you said just be yourself because many forget they have a background story and get sucked up into how can I do this line for line and forget to show some of there own talents. I really really love how you said that. But yeah your insight on how to film a good self video where to stand and where not to and the lighting and spitting over the video really helped and helped me learn more for my video take thanks. This content is really great and very helpful.

Love all the advice except the self tape…we have to set it all up ourselves whatever that entails and then edit it ourselves…how anyone can do that in 15 mins is virtually impossible. In the room all we need to do is act. At home we are director lighter editor. It’s great to be relaxed about it and enjoy the process. Also I would have preferred Brittany’s eyeline to be off camera, so closer to the lense to her left. The eye line will be so much cleaner and accessible when it is delivered closer to the lense 🙏🏼
@Caprizzl3 жыл бұрын
I think she means like actually doing the scene , if you do the audition in person all that extra stuff you listed would already be set up

This was really good my only thing I want to say about it about what she says there is no wrong things in the business I don't agree with that I think that if you are not living by the story and you're not investing in the story and you're just investing in your own emotional life or the life of the character without assessing does that fit in the scene does it have a buoyancy to the message of the story then I think that is not craftsmanship. I think that yes it is subjective but the subjectivity should come from understanding the actual message of each scene in story
