[LYRICS] Show me the meaning of being lonely So many words for the broken heart It's hard to see in a crimson love So hard to breathe Walk with me, and maybe Nights of light so soon become Wild and free I could feel the sun Your every wish will be done They tell me Show me the meaning of being lonely Is this the feeling I need to walk with? Tell me why I can't be there where you are There's something missing in my heart Life goes on as it never ends Eyes of stone observe the trends They never say forever gaze, if only Guilty roads to an endless love (endless love) There's no control Are you with me now? Your every wish will be done They tell me Show me the meaning of being lonely Is this the feeling I need to walk with? (Tell me why) tell me why I can't be there where you are There's something missing in my heart There's nowhere to run I have no place to go Surrender my heart, body, and soul How can it be You're asking me To feel the things you never show You are missing in my heart Tell me why can't I be there where you are? Show me the meaning of being lonely Is this the feeling I need to walk with? (Tell me why) tell me why I can't be there where you are (where you are) There's something missing in my heart Show me the meaning of being lonely (being lonely) Is this the feeling I need to walk with? (Tell me why) tell me why I can't be there where you are (where you are) There's something missing in my heart

My sister used to love the Backstreet Boys, and I continue to like them As for her, ( *WARNING, LONG TEXT* ) My sister literally passed away on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024, and she was a die-hard fan of the Backstreet Boys since she was 10 to 12 years old. I did use to listen to it alongside her back then (the red album & "Black & Blue") and this song has a whole different meaning now, for it can be for a lost love or a dead beloved one. It pains me and it saddens me that now she will never hear them again, but I can honor her memory in a way by listening to them and typing this. Glad I was able to see her before she passed; she died in the very same hospital, in our hometown, where she gave birth to her son, my nephew, in 2009. It is indeed a bittersweet sensation because in her later years we didn't talk much. I may not have cried but that DON'T mean I won't miss her or didn't love her. No animosity between us there was, there was only distance, there was no rivalry like Mufasa and Scar. In fact, back in 2018 she scared off an ex-grilfriend of mine, with whom in hindsight I did not break up nicely and properly, but it had to be done (parents insisted on grandchildren and pulled a prank on me about it), then my sister basically barked at her, figuratively speaking, telling her to leave me alone. For that I'll always be thankful. Being the calm younger sibling, I now dread having to be as tough as her, which I will likely never or hardly be. Let's say that if she were hanging by a cliff and about to fall like your average Evil Disney Character/Villain, I would definitely run to save her (pranking her first I'm running off like the coward I am). That's the level on which our siblinghood was. I'm literally writing these lines on July 30th, 2024 (and editing them on the 31st). (but I'm rewriting hoping my comment gets attention) She was the elder sibling, meaning she got the toughest end of the stick, so like most elder siblings, she got it tough and faced harder life experiences. Looking back, she received most of my dad's toughness and my mom used to have endless arguments with her, normal with teenagers; nevertheless I know she had dark ideas product of sinister experiences related to cigarretes, which won't be elaborated here of course. Also, she was victim of my dad's mistakes, who despite his flaws loved us inconditionally, was not a deadbeat, was there until his death, loved us and liked us; even if there was some hard bringing-up involving spanking and belts. She's buried in a place much different from my dad, so they won't be arguing in the afterlife, lol. Older siblings need their relaxation and their safe place, my sister's safe place was for some time the Backstreet Boys' music. Had she lived to be older, I'm sure she would react positively to the music of the BSB. I will now include this one to the Funeral Playlist I'm making. Knowing her, she'll be listening to reggaeton and other similar Latin music; she was alive during El Chombo's days, and during these days, late 90's and early 2000's, Backstreet Boys were also relevant. RIP, sis. RIP, G. Hope you can listen to them wherever you at. Your brother who loved you, hated you, feared you and appreciated you.

I love the backstreet boys. Their songs are so amazing and they have such beautiful voices. Moreover their videos are so clean without any sexual content.
@karlaolson76222 жыл бұрын
One simple word: WOW!!! 10/10 EASILY! I discovered this song a few years ago, but finally saw the music video for it for the first time a few weeks ago and I got goosebumps! Up until then, I thought it was just another run of the mill romantic ballad lamenting a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship that had gone sour. BOY, was I proven wrong!!! This might be the best boy band song ever composed and one of the best pop songs from the past three decades-PERIOD! The Backstreet Boys got totally ROBBED of a Grammy nomination for this breathtaking performance in my humble opinion! The music is haunting, the vocal perfomances-particularly from Brian, AJ and Nick-are stellar, the harmonies are seamless and the lyrics are raw, blunt, honest, questioning, introspective and simply top-notch! Most boy band songs are about romantic love either gone right or gone wrong. This one takes things to a WHOLE different level as the lyrics describe how someone tries to deal with death, loss and the pain which they both bring. This is a dark and very mature subject for this genre! MASSIVE PROPS to the Backstreet Boys for channeling their personal lives into this song and then releasing it for the entire world to hear! These guys are the real deal! No wonder they're still relevant today after nearly 30 years!!!

AshleyHeartagram420 Yes indeed, and let's not forget that the song is dedicated to Denniz PoP, the music genius from Sweden who was crucial for their success; he died when he was only 35, in 1998, and then his disciple Max Martin created many more great hits for them, including this song. The bus driver in the video is a Denniz PoP lookalike, and AJ acknowledges him kindly when he gets off the bus.

Lyrics: Show me the meaning of being lonely So many words for the broken heart It's hard to see in a crimson love So hard to breathe Walk with me, and maybe Nights of light so soon become Wild and free I could feel the sun Your every wish will be done They tell me Show me the meaning of being lonely Is this the feeling I need to walk with? Tell me why I can't be there where you are There's something missing in my heart Life goes on as it never ends Eyes of stone observe the trends They never say forever gaze upon me Guilty roads to an endless love (endless love) There's no control Are you with me now? Your every wish will be done They tell me Show me the meaning of being lonely Is this the feeling I need to walk with? (Tell me why) tell me why I can't be there where you are There's something missing in my heart There's nowhere to run I have no place to go Surrender my heart, body, and soul How can it be You're asking me To feel the things you never show You are missing in my heart Tell me why I can't be there where you are Show me the meaning of being lonely Is this the feeling I need to walk with? (Tell me why) tell me why I can't be there where you are (where you are) There's something missing in my heart Show me the meaning of being lonely (being lonely) Is this the feeling I need to walk with? This will always be one of my favorites from them; the lyrics are just so powerful and their songs had meaning to them, not JUST to "sound good". That's what's wrong with music today, it's lost all life. It's lost the emotion. If a song can make you cry, THAT is a good song, that is power. If a song can stay stuck in your head from the 90's and into 2015 over 20 years later, that is power. BSB's in general were such a powerful and amazing band, that even this metalhead still will never be ashamed to say I love their songs.
