Turntables are instruments and records are signal sources. Hip Hop DJ's defined the art to playing records and for me they'll always be the heart of Hip Hop.

Hence why J Dilla is so highly respected and revered. His music transcended beyond rap, hip hop and for the dance floor. More feeling, more deeper and creative to me anyway.

J Dilla is my favorite producer. But when I found out 9th made his beats on FL, it really made me believe I could do it. So, while I have a lot of Dilla videos on here, I'm always gonna make content on 9th too. He's lasted long enough that his impact is undeniable now.

I would've liked to be in his class too. I graduated from college in 2004 so he hadn't started teaching yet at that time.

9th did well on Rhythm Roulette. Some joints there to work with.

9th Wonder, the welcomer of the newcomers haha. To me, a lot of the stuff in this video is him stating the obvious. But he's definitely the go to guy for people trying to understand beatmaking/producing on a philosophical level. Also, it takes a really selfless position to worry about what the people want and then boxing yourself into one style just because they like it lol
