your videos are so much fun and educative at the same time. I have a question though. just finished installing a backup camera in my 2015 frontier thru a harness I bought online to feed video since this model didn't have camera. All is kind of fine, I have to sets of guidelines (4 lines) showing different path. Any ideas how to get rid of one of these gridlines. Thanks a million guys.

What’s the LUX on this camera? Do you recommend it?
@tonys6237 жыл бұрын
You can't swap out the radio in the new Fusions. The climate controls are integrated to the 8" touch screen. You can't switch between defrost, vent and floor if you take out the factory radio. So I'm stuck with a factory radio with Hertz speakers all around.

Anthony S. Check out idatalink maestro. Regardless your better off buying processor and leaving factory head unit.

Doesn’t the purple/white provide 12v while in reverse? Can that ever be used to power the camera if you only want to power it when in reverse?

The factory camera on my Altima is hooked up to my NEX and PAC. It will come on and click off. Think I need a relay?

Also, possible for you to discuss the difference between the new sony xav-ax200 and the kenwood dmx7704s
@caseytbss7 жыл бұрын
Amrit Singh Biggest difference is Sony can play a disc, kenwood can’t. Screen size is the other. Those are 2 biggest things, both are quality units. Kenwood is idatalink maestro data compatible also.
@YTSTK897 жыл бұрын
Casey Cross I Love the knob control on the sony, but I really like the larger screen on the Kenwood. Also, I believe the don't has a resistive touch screen while the Kenwood has a capacitive. I can probably get a better deal on the kenwood used. Thanks for your reply.

Surely a camera doesn't draw 2-3A do they?? assuming 13.8V 3A would be over 40W!
@brucebeverly26296 жыл бұрын
bassblaster505 - Exactly---great point. The CMOS "starlight" (no IR LEDs) backup camera I just installed in my truck draws just 2mA (as measured on my test bench). A camera with a few IR LEDS would draw 200-300mA at most, I'd estimate. The fuse for the truck's original radio is rated at just 5A. There's no way backup camera manufacturers could get away with selling units that consume two or three Amps, IMO.

I love these guys and their videos. But good Lord just name the videos how to wire harnesses and check phase. He spends so much time every video, wire the harness, check the phase. No fabrication, not even showing vehicle specific wire runs. I'm tired of watching Doug wire harnesses I the bench. We get it.
