It is amazing how the water is as smooth as glass and as the sun rises you start to see the ripples from the wind begin. I told my kids (22 and 19 now) years ago that my vision of heaven on earth is cruising across Biscayne Bay, water smooth as glass, and dolphins feeding. I will always have that experience for as long as I live.

Aaron, I’m enjoying watching you doing a splendid job of representing, today’s Charter Captains and those on the beach. As a Plumber,I spent quite a bit of time in Key West, Big Pine Key and Marathon and I could not have asked for a better place to be. I usually stay at Amy’s Slates but that because it’s a wee bit closer. My credentials are, USCG Lic, Divemaster and Ex-DAN instructor but as of four years ago, I had a stroke, ending my diving day’s, well not really, You are my Digital Dive Buddy and I like being onboard! Your love for the Sea is outstanding…..Safe dives and don’t change a thing….say Hi to Paddlin!

I only ever fished water that calm once before in my 75 years. It was off Conway, North Wales in 1979 at the height of the heat wave. The water was crystal clear and 90ft deep at the edge of a much deeper hole. The fishing was absolutely epic and we were fishing a competituve match. Who cares who won, we were fourth I believe, as the haul was enough to fill our freezers, the fire station freezer and the freezer of every guy on duty there when we got back. The engine room stunk of fish for weeks after. Never seen conditions like it since.
