Backyard Astrophotography: The North America Nebula/Cygnus Wall

I shot this picture with an Askar 65PHQ and the ZWO ASI533MC. Total exposure was a little over 22 hours. I'm in a bortle 5 and used an Optolong luminance filter. Processing done with Pixinsight and Photoshop.

Looks pretty good James. As for some photo feedback: I feel the immense amount of tiny golden stars on the bottom of the wall obscures the nebulosity too much. Obviously this a personal taste thing but it worked well for me to reduce them on my picture of the Crescent nebula.

Thanks Justin! Appreciate the feedback. I shot this a couple of years ago in narrowband and the stars in that shot were dialed back significantly. For this broadband shot I wanted the rich star field to be part of the image :)

Ha my name is James too and I also just took a pic of the Cygnus wall with the 533mc pro and a similar focal length and processed it in pixinsight. The odds of that are astronomical!

I looked around for ages before deciding on it and I’m happy with my choice Love seeing your images taken with it. Do you use any filters with yours? I believe one can be added to the image train. Thanks! I use a filter wheel. I have a lum, a CLS, a plain S2, and a L-Extreme filter in there.

@@DSOImager what mount are you using with the 65PHQ? I’m worried it will be too heavy for my skywatcher star adventurer gti mount if I add a filter whelk to the mix?
