Another awesome job Jaak!! I didn’t expect the lower tier waterfall to split/ behave like it did. What I would do differently is make it 3’ deep. Not for winter but from a predator control standpoint. Although I’m not sure what size pond would look weird if it was too deep.

Hello :-D I'm in the Uk and very much enjoying your projects. I have one suggestion please, would you be able to pop back in the evening and show any of the finished places at night-time with any lights fitted on? :-D It would be so lovely to see how they view in daytime and nighttime. I am hoping to arrange a project at my house and trying to see ideas of how much lighting you need, where and what type (uplighters, downlighters, in the water, to the side etc) so that would be great. This project was so lovely, when the lady spoke about her Mum having a pond, I have happy memories of my neighbour and her koi pond and us feeding the fish, thanks for sharing :-D x

Once again, great job! I will soon be building my pond in a similar spot, in the corner of an existing fence. As I'm doing it all by hand -- no machinery -- so no big rocks, -- could I use wood sleepers to build a 'back wall' in the corner that protects the fence before the berm goes up?

Yes as long as they’re pressure treated

Beautiful. You asked, I would have left more space or a catch area so pool water won't be able to enter the pond. Maybe you did?

Another awesome vid! Question jaak I have see a lot your videos and none seem to explain how to join the waterfall liner over the pond. I have mine over lapping by 6 inches. I don't trust that the water wont find it's way and leak behind the liner. Was thinking of sealing with silicone then a heavy rock and topped with waterfall foam. Am I paranoid? Could you tell me how it's done? Thanks a bunch.
@AtlantisWaterGardens4 жыл бұрын
6” is minimum for an overlap. The silicone and foam won’t make it waterproof. Only seam tape will
@jdhoss264 жыл бұрын
Hi Jaak, Love the channel and the amazing beauty that your team creates. I have a questions about the first water fall on this project. It looks like you stacked stone to support a flat rock in the first waterfall. This seems like a different technique than most of your other waterfalls that use two framing stones and a waterfall boulder with a flat surface. I'm curious about the rationale for the different technique used on this waterfall. Thanks!

With the lilies in the center of the pond like that, does it inhibit the flow of floating debris to the skimmer? Seems like leaves and such would get hung up there.
@AtlantisWaterGardens4 жыл бұрын
Great question. Sometimes, yes. That’s why we leave the lilies in pots, they can be moved if they become and obstruction 👍

Do you have to get a permit to build a pond. Is there any issues with it so close to the fence. Because concrete pools normally need to be 5 feet away from a fence.

Also wondering -- why don't you make a 4" deep 'lily bed' in the bottom of the pond that can be filled with dirt and covered with rock to plant the lilies in? Why keep them in a basket? And what kind of soil do you use for the lilies?

Backyard?... No. A yard is a place where a builder stacks lumps of concrete and other building materials. That nice green area of land behind your house is actually called a garden. It's the back garden. That's where we do attractive, creative, flowery, pondy stuff in the UK... in the garden. Yard is for s**t, whereas a garden is a place that looks good. It's the garden, FFS.
