Jess you are definitely a professional landscaper. You dug up those trees and replanted them, lay down the landscape fabric and cut it to fit around your trees, then you put down the cardboard and laid out your pavers and mulched like it was nothing. Thanks Margie & best of luck with your boxwoods! Key tip is to get the bottom of the rootball about an inch above where the water is not draining. Pack lots of soil around the exposed rootball, the roots will find their way down 😉💚

I had a similar situation with water runoff from the neighbors gutter. I asked if they would be willing to add a diverter to their downspout and the problem was solved. Can't hurt to ask.

Hesitate to say this, but: Your neighbors NEED to work on their drainage. They likely need a french drain for rain water, to redirect all the water to a better suffusion job...good luck. Their own foundation could be at risk, very expensive potential structural issues for them. They need (you may have to hire...) a landscape/drainage EXPERT to assess their above-ground and water table water directing. Vevore HOOKED you up!!

Do you not put paver sand under your pavers? How do you get them to stay in place or keep them from sinking into the ground? Everything is looking nice. That peony is gorgeous. This coming month, I'm hoping that I can finish my backyard beds, which are new, as well as my front yard, which I'm redoing. I'm thankful for all our NC rain but seems like every weekend it's raining and when it's not, I have to go into work.

How low did the temps get when you planted your flowers that had you concerned? I was so excited to plant that I planted some annuals and the temps dropped down to 41, do you think they'll be ok?

We got down to 35° here a couple nights but I covered mine & brought some in my garage & they all are blooming now thankfully! 41° could still cause damage to young tender plants be sure to protect them!😉💚
