My dear ole Mom used to make a version of this quite often. She used raw hand beef patties, just salt a pepper and the exact same potatoes. Sometimes she used raw potatoes and just cooked it longer. It was delicious. Side note: everyone has a hangover recipe, ours is crumbled cornbread in a glass of milk.....or just a bloody mary :)

Oh my, this is a recipe that I just did last week and posted on your Backyard Chef Facebook page. The difference is that I did a one pot meal, chucked in my cubed potatoes into my ground beef mixture with some chicken bouillon and let the potatoes cook all together. I like your bake first, get the potatoes Brown, and layer in baking dish. Such a great idea!😎

Hi Rik, hailing from Scotland 🏴 I absolutely love tatties & mince 😋 served up with a big dollop of HP, it’s like our second national dish. You’ve just created what looks like an entirely different dish, just by the inclusion of a few more ingredients & a different cooking method, it looks absolutely delicious & is definitely one I will be trying out very soon! Culinary alchemy before our eyes! 🪄✨👨🏼🍳 How are things going there today, any signs of the flood waters regressing? Saw on the news that the aid workers were using elephants 🐘 to help distribute aid packages to those trapped upstairs in their homes. Sad to hear that three people sadly lost their lives & a couple of rescued female elephants on the reserve also drowned.😞 Stay safe& take care 💗 - Thanks as always for sharing Rik. 🙏👍👌😋

I always like how your intentions are noble when it comes to waiting for a freshly baked dish to cool "a little off" before digging into it, but the aroma gets the better of you which quickly ends that and you dig in with gusto. It is so pleasing to watch you enjoy your creations and the happiness and exuberance you cook with. I get tired of watching people, especially many women, play "Food Games". For many of us in the older generation, we were taught to be Dainty Eaters publicly, no matter how hungry we were and how plentiful the food. Wasn't considered "Ladylike" to show that you enjoyed your food or dared to ask for more. You were always expected to leave a small portion behind on your plate and not publicly eat large portions, acting like you barely tolerated it. I never subscribed to any of that nonsense and hope that women will develop a more honest relationship with food and their body images. Another easy to prepare tasty dish for us to try.
