Who else remembers the wee caramel & pastry tarts from school dinners, topped off with hot warm runny custard?🍮😋 There were always rugby scrum tackle manoeuvres afoot, when the call went out for extra/2nd helpings of that one!😆😂🤣

You are one of the best I've ever seen, Sir, and I go back to Julia Child in the early 60s when she invented the American television media of chefs educating the public. What she did for French cuisine, you have been doing for BIR (which I never heard of until you educated me). And all your videos are excellent. Thank YOU for what you do. Now with this caramel, you can diversify to FUDGE !!!

Thanks Rik - Very informative 👍, I had no idea about the pressure cooker & jug method, great to know these different methods!👌 Looking forward to seeing what goodies your’re going to be making to go with your caramel sauce, as I have some I made at Christmas sitting in a jug in my fridge, couldn’t decide how to use it up as it’s too cold here for ice cream atm. Temp was down to -6°C here during the night 🧊🥶, & my CH stopped working due to a frozen boiler outlet condensate pipe, have just finally managed to thaw it out & restart the boiler about an hour ago. The most stupid type of boiler to have in a cold climate, but we have no choice thanks to the ‘wisdom’ of our politicians & their ‘Green energy/Net zero policies!🤨 No chance any of those same politicians will be sitting shivering 🥶 clutching onto hot water bottles to try & get a heat, oh no they’ll be sitting in luxury!🧐🤨😤 That’s my wee rant over, despite having no heating, I managed to build up quite a head of steam in the last few hours!😉😆😂 Take care & thanks as always. xx 🙏👨🍳👌
@ I am finally starting to thaw out thanks Rik 🙏, was muffled up from head to toe, quite the sight to behold, the only visible body parts was about half a face!😆 Bet you really miss old Blighty at times like these ☃️❄️🧊🥶😉 Thanks for the banoffee pie suggestion, I’ll get some bananas included on my shopping list!👍👌

Hello from Texas, USA. Why don’t you raise your work area. You are so tall wouldn’t it make it easier on you? You spend hours and hours standing there and for you everything is so low. I really like all the things you make. ❤😊❤😊❤😊
