@@BackyardSmokeMasterBBQ Kenyatta….i sure will let you know but quite honestly only the LSG pellet grill gives true offset flavor. I’ve had so many pellet grills trying to achieve what only an offset smoker can achieve that I now either use my LSG offset or LSG pellet grill or my LSG adjustable charcoal grill/smoker…..unbeatable flavor every time. I also use my Weber Smokey Mountain and kettles…..true charcoal flavor and wood as you know can be added!

@Rbouch I believe it….. the LSG pellet smoker is on my wish list.

I almost always use a smoke tube or two for my cooks. I tried the Traeger Pecan pellets on my (Canadian) Thanksgiving turkey and it was incredible! I used two smoke tubes with the Pecan pellets, and the Kirkland premium blend pellet as a fuel pellet. I would like to give the Smokin Pecan pellets a try soon though, and I'm interested to see how they stack up using smoke tubes. Great job displaying the difference in smoke production from each type of pellet!

A smoke tube is a great way to enhance the smoke flavor on a pellet grill. I hope you try the Smokin’ Pecan pellets. I’d love to know what you think.

Awesome video and comparison. BUT I have to say the part I loved the most was the interaction between you and your lovely wife in the kitchen! I’m pulling the trigger and ordering a 20# bag of the Smokin pecan pellets!

I’ve been on the fence about these with the extra cost. I am thinking I may have to invest in a couple boxes and give them a fair shake!

I recently replaced my failed Lousiana Grills pellet grill with a Traeger grill and the deal I got came with pecan pellets and apple pellets. The odd thing i noticed with traeger pellets was the amount of saw dust the pellets put off compared to other brands I've used. Once I completely run out I'll see if I can find the smokin pecan in the UK

I don’t think Smokin’ Pecan is shipping internationally yet but you can email them. They are a small family run business & they are good people. Here’s a link smokinpecan.com/pages/contact

Thank you for this comparison, I will pursue the pecan shell pellets. in my experience Traeger pellets seem to provide the least smoke flavor verses other brands, they also seem to come apart and revert back to sawdust in humid situations, jamming augers... so I don't use them anymore. Glad I found this video

shipping is too much to bring them into canada $100 a box and adding more for 5 boxes only makes the shipping $300 so you gotta basically order a garage full at a time to make this shipping worth it so I will need to skip and stick with lunberjack

I purchased a smoke generator (Smokai) they specifically state not to use Traeger wood pellets due to the use of soy oil. Will have to try this new brand.

I have found that the Smokin Pecan pellets also don’t burn through pellets as fast as other brands. While the upfront cost is higher, the box of pellets will last longer over time.

Salute Kenyatta for always providing great insight for a backyard grillmaster. You and your wife are beautiful people. I wish we were neighbors! I'm not ready to embrace a pellet smoker. It might be a mental block but I am reserved about the bbq produced by pellet smokers. I might be wrong. Time will tell
@BackyardSmokeMasterBBQ9 ай бұрын
I always recommend that most start with charcoal. Pellet grills are great for convenience but the smoke profile usually can’t compete with charcoal & wood.
