Bacterial identification Tests: Nitrate reduction test

Nitrate reduction test is a commonly used biochemical test in bacterial identification. It is used for the differentiation of members of Enterobacteriaceae based on their ability to produce nitrate reductase enzyme that reduce nitrate (NO3-) to nitrite (NO2-).

Hi, what if our nitrate test came out more of a pink/reddish color the first time and the second time it came out with yellow on the top and red on the bottom? Also are we supposed to mix after we add the sulfuric acid and the alpha napithol? thank you for your video btw (:
