Sir in my micro book and lecture, it says the opposite of what you mention about flagella: clockwise movement = trumbling and counter-clockwise movement = jet motion. Is it that like making a "whip with a towel", that you close the several flagella (both clock-wise/counterclockwise possible) to make jet movement and then open flagella (both directions possible) to make tumbling movement? Or is Jet vs tumbling motion only possible from one rotationary direction?

A question struck my mind.... Gram negative bacteria lack mesosomes, right? So which structure in the gram negative helps perform the functions of mesosomes like cell wall formation, DNA replication, respiration, etc?.... If u see this, please do reply I have an upcoming test based on such questions!

Sorry but you made a mistake about the bacteria flagellum. Counterclockwise is forward motion and clockwise is tumbling. Flagella are left-handed helices, and bundle and rotate together only when rotating counterclockwise.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flagellum i.e counterclockwise is forward motion. I can t believe nobody corrected you as this is microbiology 101 basics
