It was my toilet paper that has bleach and formaldehyde in it. Was red, swollen and burned. This went on for a couple of months until I noticed it got worse after I used the toilet paper my husband got at Sams Club. Check your toilet paper for bleach and formaldehyde and switch to hypoallergenic toilet paper and use calmoseptine cream or diaper rash cream for relief.

Recently had a blood test that said my vitamin d levels are very low (8.3, should be 20-30ish at least) so I'm taking a 5000 IU D3 supplement and hope that my immune system won't get compromised to this point. Low vitamin d is a real gamble that we shouldn't play with. Thank you for this information and it makes so much sense.

@@TeachMeLordGod I think it will really help. Getting my Vitamin D levels up to normal made a huge difference in my overall health. I spent nearly a year doing regular boric acid suppositories because it was the only thing that helped with BV. After I discovered I had low Vitamin D, and I got my levels up to normal, I’ve never had a recurrence. And my nails are stronger.

I got bacterial vaginosis and i got mine diagnosed by testing through a obgyn i had to lay down and tell her my symptoms and as soon as i opened my legs she was like yep. What gave it away was the discharge. She got some swabs and ran some tests and it said "BV ABNORMAL" i thought it was a UTI because of the burning when i peed. But it was Bv i had the burning the fishy smell and discharge. She prescribed me antibiotics for 7 days called i think metronidazole and i have 3 pills left. Im in the home stretch. It doesnt burn when i pee anymore but the discharge is still there, 3 pills left hopefully it will be all done in 3 days. Btw i was diagnosed with this 2 weeks ago so this was fresh

I started this way as well 1.5 years ago. It honestly has been a battle. I'm trying boric acid suppositories and that really seems more effective than the antibiotics that I seem resistant to. Going to clean up my diet and pray that helps.

Avoid using perfumed soaps. Keep up a good healthy diet and take probiotics if you’re prone to this condition, as a good gut flora is key to good health. It keeps this pesky condition at bay.

Since there is recurrence do I need to be seen again to make sure Flagyl worked? GYN also gave me hygeine tips to seperate and wash on HOT all undergarments. I did not have an odor but recurrent puritis.

I've had this and it's not fun. I did some research and found that boric acid suppositories cleared it up. However, I had a total hysterectomy 6 months ago ( have my ovaries) but I have a vaginal cuff because my cervix is gone. I've noticed that since I can have sex again (married), it seems BV returns. I hate it cause it does stink. Wonder if I can still use the boric acid suppositories...

@@waelfadlallah8939 oooh sure! It's actually just a closure to the vaginal canal. The cervix is the barrier for most women, but mine was prolapsed. It's my own tissues sewed to make a closure. Probably lost an inch of space I was used to because at 6 weeks post op, I was told I could have sex, but I waited 8 weeks. My love is well endowed and he went through it. Never have I ever been in so much pain. Emergency surgery the next day for repair. We waited 15 weeks and everything went well! That was the long version. Sad thing is, doctors don't tell you that you will have a vaginal cuff if the cervix is removed. It should be discussed more. Hope this helps!
