I hate beer and wine snobs. I had a few at my house and was giving them budweiser, which they were harse critics of. My neighbor was getting annoyed. He went next door poured Budweiser into craft beer bottles and delivered them on a tray to them. They then went on about the notes and finish of the beer with praise. We could barely contain ourselves, this was the same canned beer from 20 minutes earlier.

chili24137 All pale lagers are pretty close, very true. The one thing that separates stella from a Rolling rock or Bud though is the absence of adjuncts. Its cleaner & a little crisper. I've never thought of stella as an "elite" beer or admired its looks (?), but whatever.

When I was in my early 20s, I ran a pizza hut. A few times, the beer companies would load us up in an RV, give us free beer and take us to a dog track.They taught us to smell the beer. (Which I never do) and what a beer clean glass looks like. (An unachievable goal with a regular dishwasher)They taught us about proper head & so forth. But most of us were just interested in getting drunk.I do recall going to a local bar after one of our excursions with the bud or miller guys. We bought Coors light and my boss gave us heck. I think these people are just pretending to not taste the difference between these to try to seem cultured and superior over a drink. If you can't tell the difference in basic taste between Stella and Coor's or Bud then you're either lying or your taste buds must be completely fried. The only one's I can see there possibly getting mixed up from people that had all of them are Bud and Coor's. Hell even PBR has it's own distinct taste.

I think this video is just to show that there's much more out there than these boring flavor less lagers. Drinking one lager vs the other is like asking a guest "would you like a glass of water from my kitchen faucet, bathroom faucet, bath tub faucet or garden hose? It all tastes the same give or take a miniscule flavor. There's countless styles of beer not just lager. You've got IPA's, double IPA's, stouts, milk stouts, lambic, Imperials, porters, scotch ales, quads, you can take any of those beers and age them in say a rum barrel, bourbon barrel...the crafting is just so experimental but it seems like so many people just stick with their tap water lagers. Drink it if you'd like but there's a reason it's so cheap.

In my experience, craft lagers are terrible. I love a lot of craft beer, but the art of the lager is smoothness, not spiciness or hops. If you miss that, you miss everything. The best cheap lager out there, imho, is PBR or Narragansett .

There is a lesson to be learned, larger is crap and thats why its always served cold so ya taste buds go sleep, drink ale at cellar temp which is abit warmer than fridge temp but colder than room temp, and you will no all about taste smell flavour etc. Amber/golden brown beer is my colour of choice.

German pilsners and German hefeweizens are good, Stella isn't too bad either it shouldn't be in the crap beer list. I like paulaner Hefeweizen, krombacher Pilsner, watsteiner pilsner, erdinger weissbier, and weihenstephaner lager. Hoping to have the weihenstephaner Hefeweizen soon.

"american lager" adheres to a sub-catagory(even at competitions it's seperated - American Adjunct Lager) that is inherently inferior. I just made a lager on cheap equipment with adjunct ingredients that is exponentially better than all these shit beers... why... because time and profit weren't important for me.. I love how Bud's new campaigns talk about how expensive and long it takes... yeah, maybe next to the other crap. The fact that all these people on the video liked the flying dog is a PERFECT example of what I'm talking about... the fact is the one's who like this crap are just uneducated beer palate's that feel more 'patriotic' by drinking the crap... when they don't even realize there are GREAT, well-cared-for American lagers produced in much smaller batches that taste MUCH better. So the 'pound them in the sun all day" thing doesn't even apply... it's just a lack of a palate and information/accessibility. Take a stoudt's gold from Stoudt's or a Land of the Lakes from Bell's and tell me any of these macro crap beers are better... I like my PBR... with a grain of salt.

The fact that the girl in the ending is going off on "they all taste the same" is a CLEAR example of this, shit beer or not, THEY DO NOT all taste the same, an average beer drinker could tell you the difference, which also proves, neither of the three of them are "beer people" or know what they're talking about when tasting beer. It's clear they pretty much went into the review with their mind set on "oh this beer will be the worst, and this one shouldn't taste well" and their results clearly show how OFF their taste of "good beer" is. I suggest she meant she could taste a difference but could not pick one as superior. This makes sense as the big breweries got big by being as inoffensive as possible. Their product has to have mass appeal to a swath of beer drinkers with Bavarians Helmut and Gunter on one end and Sorority girls on the other. You get there by being bland. The bolder your flavor the smaller the audience. I drink PBR as my summer beer of choice. When it's hot and I have been working outside I want a cold clean tasting beer I can slurp down fast. Often 2 or 3! Try that with a Guinness or Hobgoblin. As for craft beer, where every pub has a microbrewery in it, we'll have to agree to disagree. A little is good, some is alright, most is rubbish. They don't taste the same. If you haven't drunk beers much, the beers would taste probably very similarly. PBR is a classic American Lager. It's not bad in any way. It's a little hoppier than Coors and has a slight aftertaste, which is not bad. Probably a little more bite. The finish is smooth and dry. Coors also has a smooth finish. But a sweeter flavor. I'd say Coors Banquet is one of the best American macrobrews on the market. Corona is so different than the other two. Not a dry finish, and quite watery. The taste is good and sweet. But come on, if you have to put a lime in your beer, then it probably not a beer that can stand on it's on. Coors Banquet, PBR, Corona would be my order among the three.

Of course all these beers are going to Taste The same they are all American lagers. And most of them are excellent examples of post prohibition beers. They are all made with high quality equipement and ingrediants using brewing techniques honed to perfection by professional brewmasters. People who say this stuff is crap are just saying american style lagers arn't what they like.

Nowhere was PRICE mentioned. And you need to compare light beers to light beers only.The high alcohol beers they sell in 4 of 16oz packs are particularly nasty but they will get you drunk for about $3.50.I don't recall tasting PBR.But really, beer isn't for taste, its for getting a buzz or drunk.And I want to murder craft beer makers who haven't shaved in 10 years. (Most of them)Its beer. Its designed to get you drunk cheap. Don't pretend you are superior for paying more for beer.
