So maybe this is obscure, but when I heard this song for the first time today, the first thing I thought was "that guy sounds like David Bazan from Pedro the Lion." And then when the line about laziness cutting like a knife, I was like wow, that is a pedro the lion lyric. ("Laziness cuts me / like fine cutlery"). But then I thought maybe that's just a common metaphor? Anyways, I love it.
