We found the decks are too small and clumped very easily. It dosent make sense to have your employees to start and noon when the dew dries up. We finally switched to scag cheetahs. We now have over 40 Cheetah and cheetah 2s. They range from low hours to over 4000 hours. The one with 4000 hours has not been rebuilt. Neither the kawasaki engine or the hydrogear 5400. There are grease zerks everywhere. And serviceable filters. The 5400 is the biggest and beat transaxle used on a zero turn and they are 2 speed. Pair it up to your favorite engine. The gas gauge messed up and the dealer repaired within a day. Told me they would deal with the higher ups and get me on my way. Instead of waiting for authorization. You got double hosed, dealership then the wait game from Husqvarna. Hope you find an awesome dealer this time, better yet a brand you won't need them for during warranty.

Thanks for the video. Looks like a nice machine but John Deere also has many of the same features like the parking brake, I wonder if other zero turn makers do too. I've had the deck raising lock up but I like the ones where they can be lifted but don't lock up so you can raise it over obstacles, again, I like the Deere system more - maybe just me. My concern is that, while this may be a great company, they may not be in business in five years or may get out of the zero turn business.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors5 ай бұрын
Deere definitely makes nice equipment. There’s always a concern with longevity with newer companies but the parent company has been around since 1988. I think Yakta will do just fine.
@mosfet5005 ай бұрын
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors Thanks for the reply. I did some research on Yakta, did you see the YT review someone did? My thinking is that it is overbuilt, it's stronger than it has to be and other parameters suffer, they always do. When engineers get a blank sheet they list parameters ant their importance, putting one higher on the list means another one is lower. For instance the extra weight means it uses more gas and overall cost is higher than it needs to be. I suspect the ride might not be as good as other machines also and that extra weight precludes it from some mower trailers filled with other equipment. There were also problems with grass expelling when doing high dense grass but in fairness to Yankta they say they're working on it. That's the difference in a company like Toro that has been building decks for decades, they don't make many of those mistakes. I'm not as concerned about getting parts but as you saw in my last post I did check Deere's parts on the zero I just ordered to make sure there weren't problems. I can understand, you got burnt, but maybe you overcompensated due to it and place it higher on the importance list than it needs to be? Will Yankta decide in a few years that there are too many players in the ztrak field and bow out, especially if sales don't go well? There are a lot of very good machines out there.

If I was a dealer I’d be jumping on this in a heartbeat! First thing I’d ask is, do they guarantee dealership territories. In this day of throwaway mentality and warrantees not honored this is finally a step back to a better time. Takta - well done and good on ya, mate! 👍
@michaelcook67096 ай бұрын
Great video, very informative about the machine and yes, that warranty is amazing. Some downsides are that it's very new, which means the dealers are not as close as you would like or an actual shop that deals directly with repairing that brand that's just down the road from where you live. And as I stated before with it being so new, there is no actual usage reviews. For myself, I need to witness actual long-term use on a brand before I can actually accept proof that it's reliable. Sure, it has a great warranty, but for all anyone knows, you have to have that machine in the shop all the time every year because of issues that no one has even mentioned because of it being so new. But on the flip side, it might end up being the best mower you have ever seen or used, it's the unknown that would keep me from buying a newer brand mower like that.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors6 ай бұрын
I agree 100%. The mower looks well built, the company appears to be well run with good values and customer support. The parent company does have a great track record as well which is nice. Time will tell but I wouldn’t be sure if they end up being quite successful from what I’ve learned so far.

What you all are not realizing is that warranty says 5years or two thousand hours those hours will come way before 5 years and he said the deck is a 7gauge deck which is perfectly fine but the lowest price badboy has a 7gauge deck and you can get any of them with kawasaki Kohler or Briggs engines and there frames are the same thickness as yakta but less expensive

I imagine they will be! I have heard they are potentially putting a plant in Tennessee but just what e heard I don’t have direct knowledge. They are building their dealer base though.

Never heard of them....hard to find a dealer in Wisconsin looking at their website...not sure about the extra electronics; seem unnecessary....really would depend on availability of belts and blades. Very interesting...thank you for sharing the new company.

Thats the only downside I see too. I'm in North east Ohio and the closest dealer to me is the 1 Heath was at in Northwest Ohio. So across the state. That would make warranty work interesting. 150 miles away. Hopefully dealers will start adding this to their shops that are selling multiple brands.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors5 ай бұрын
They are growing their dealer network as we speak. I’m thinking they’ll end up being quite successful.
@AllenReinecke6 ай бұрын
Nice looking mower and well spec'd but for how much? The 710 sounds pricey! Also, my nearest dealer is 60 miles away and the next one, 157 miles. Therefore, I have no dealer. That offsets the 24hr parts turnaround. Caterpillar has the same goal of 24 hours yet there's a dealer almost every block! That's the issue with a) a new startup brand and b) a manufacturer on the other side of the globe; distribution. That is always the key to support. That was the issue with JCB when I worked for them 30 years ago in the UK. Few US distributors, compounded by odd BSP hydraulic fittings. Also, the extended warranty is a known marketing strategy to try to persuade buyers and negate any worries over electronics and unknown reliability. Wirtgen did that. That may well change as experience builds. It'll be interesting to see how Yakta progress over the next 5 years with sales. The market is pretty saturated from what I see and they have to distinguish themselves with tech and support to be especially attractive against the established brands. I do like the tool-less approach to service, though access looked tight under the seat. I still prefer my Ferris from that aspect.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors6 ай бұрын
The 710 was around $12k which seems about right for that quality of mower. I believe they operate out of Canada as well. I believe their focus on customer support will go a long way in helping them succeed if done right.

Not sure how I left that out, I believe it was $12,800. I also did overlook the speed, I believe it is 14 mph. The mowers we looked at and mentioned pricing for were all 61” cut. I had the pricing of all 3 models written down but got distracted by the LCD screen lol. ADHD at its finest.

Rides nice and smooth are you kidding? She almost bounced out of the seat. The beast like many others needs a suspension system, not just an air cushion seat. Where is the battery version?
@hardworkingmanoutdoorsАй бұрын
Have you ever mowed on a non suspension seat? Sure you bounce a little on the Yakta and we’ve mentioned that several times. But it is a smooth bounce not a jarring bounce. Huge difference from our last mower.

As far as materials I’d say it’s quite a bit heavier. Scag has a lot of experimental the industry but from what I saw I think Yakta is on to something.
@FliGuyRyan5 ай бұрын
Completely missing the boat on actual suspension tech is a major hit to their marketing campaign. It may last like a WWII Sherman tank, but, if it's killing the rider and bouncing them into outer space, then all the other features are moot.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors5 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t say that as a lot of the top commercial manufacturers only use suspension seats still. The seat on the Yakta is pretty impressive! I’d have to guess they’ll figure out a full suspension system soon and take their mowers to the next level.
@bladesofglorylawns5 ай бұрын
Lotta people promise all this new stuff like the shop priority and shipping times and all that jazz, of course a brand new company can promise all that. Just sayin. I’ve not even seen that in practice in wright, exmark, Ferris, or toro or bobcat
@hardworkingmanoutdoors5 ай бұрын
I agree, there’s already been one person in this comment section who has called and had a new belt within 24 hours and a representative at his house for a few hours addressing a few things with his new mower that they wanted to take care of that he didn’t even ask about. Time will tell if they continue to deliver but I think they’ll do pretty good.

I noticed your wife bounced around, what do you think about a person with a bad back. Good or buy something with a better suspension . It looks like my back might pay the price in a couple of hours.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors6 ай бұрын
Larry, with this one you do bounce but it’s a smooth bounce. You don’t jar like the seats with just springs or rubber dampeners. We were also going pretty fast over some not great ground. In the end especially if you have a bad back I’d say suspension would benefit you, but I don’t think this would be too bad if it was the route you went. Hopefully Yakta will come up with some type of suspension eventually to make their mowers even more impressive.

5 year warranty gravely
@hardworkingmanoutdoors6 ай бұрын
Sort of, some of their mowers have a 5 year limited hour warranty but it does not cover engine and hydros which are two of the main components. Those two things are covered by the manufacturer of said components and it is not 5 years. Yakta cover EVERYTHING except for the battery, tires, and blades for 5 years or 2,000 hours. Gravely does offer excellent product support and a good warranty but not what Yakta is offering.
