I had initially thought about changing Clips, however now that I think about it, good idea. I like your video on the clip change. Quick and clean. Way to go.

this video saved me alot of time and money.. the ac fan was blowing the opposite direction>> the wires where crossed the blue and black wire" causing the fan to rotate the wrong way it was blowing out air instead of sucking in and cooling the engine.. after i easily switched the wires the ac started working AGAIN.. my issue was the cars ac would only work while driving" at a stop the car would stop cooling... I tore a small piece of paper and through it towards the inside of the cooling fan and it sucked it right in.. the paper should have been thrown out, as the cooling fan sucks air from the outside into the condenser..
@teravolt61134 жыл бұрын
In my case, no overheating at all, simply really wimpy AC and a loud AC compressor in hot and sunny summer days only... but the refrigerant charge was perfect and both the condenser and radiator were clean. Caught it in time and fitted a new one before things got messy. Got to turn the blades by hand on the old one and it felt grainy, like shot bearings... didn't make any obvious noise at all while running though. New one is definitely louder, like 5 times the airflow, btw...

It helps to 'match mark' the wires in relation to the connector housing before disassembly either by etching the housing ('B' for blue, 'G' for green, etc....) or by a paint-pin color matching on the housing.

is there supposed to be continuity between both connections at the fan itself? or does that mean my fan is bad and that's why my fan fuses keep blowing? because I've tested my relays and they're working fine

Question! Do you think that the noise coming from the cooling fans is a problem that should be improved in modern cars??
@Nthefastlane7 жыл бұрын
+Zar Good question, I think inorder to make the fan quieter, they would have to work on certain pitch angles of the blades, also maybe some kind of insulated noise barrier, but then that might hold in heat. There is a lot of different angles to be looked at.
@zar59897 жыл бұрын
Nthefastlane yes, but do you think it's something that it's worth to work on it or the percentage of the noise is much inferior to the one produced by the engine?
@Nthefastlane7 жыл бұрын
+Zar My opinion is, it doesn't matter or bother me. The noise produced by the fan, is equal or just a little more then the engine at idle. If it were to be quieter, I'd worry it wasn't producing enough cfm to cool things down.
@zar59897 жыл бұрын
Nthefastlane to be honest, I'll start the next week a PhD right on this topic: the control of the flow and the noise in automotive low-speed cooling fans and that's why I was asking this question 😂 actually it will be applicable to a larger range of fans, like the helicopter blades or the HVAC systems. I think it's important to silence as much as possible this kind of noise, even if I discovered right yesterday that KZbin is full of 10 hours videos with people listening to a rotating fan noise just to sleep better 😂😂and that's paradoxical 😂

I changed the sensor switch on top of the thermostat and the 2 sensors below the distributor and my cooling fan doesnt come on when u turn on the ac and it's supposed to but never does. I checked my relays and fuses and they're fine. I thought maybe my fan needs to be replaced but I ran alligator clips from the cooling fan directly to the battery and the cooling fan came on with no problem. So my question is why isnt my cooling fan turning on when I turn on the ac???? The fan on the driver side comes on without any problems.

Is it possible that you don't get enough power to the fans? Or the fans don't spin fast enough to move air and stop overheating?

So hey i got here because my fan wasnt turning untill i reached down were it was plugged into it and grabbed the wiring...then it works? Could it just be its not connected all the way or does the whole wire need to be replaced?
@Nthefastlane5 жыл бұрын
It sounds like the plug may have a loose connection. I would unplug it and bend the pin inside a little bit so it makes better contact.
@Nthefastlane5 жыл бұрын
Also check to make sure that the pin didn't come out of the plug, I demonstrate this when I'm swapping the pins out on the plug, if the wire pulls back too much it will disconnect inside the plug.

@@Nthefastlane thank you man ill take another look at it....i unplugged it today and cleaned both connections but i could only see the part that plugs in and it looked good. Is the radiator fan supposed to push air towards the radiator? Or pull air from the radiator? becoz mine is pulling air from radiator but is not effective and radiator is heating up... only the condenser fan is pushing air towards the radiator...
@Nthefastlane4 жыл бұрын
If the radiator fan is on the inside of the engine bay it's supposed to pull air. If the radiator fan is in front of the radiator towards the front bumper then it's supposed to push air.

@@Nthefastlane thanks very much... i've fixed the problem... i noticed the condenser fan spinning the wrong direction blowing air towards the radiator... just reversed the connecting wires and that temp reading got fixed... thanks much

@Nthefastlane4 жыл бұрын
Check the fan relay or fuse. Sometimes smacking the fan relay while the vehicle is running will turn the fan on, if that happens the relay is bad. The fuse box should be located in the engine bay. If that doesn't check out, you might have a short in the wire somewhere.
