These are canal boats..not designed to be on rivers or lakes. In the past they were pulled along by heavy horses, before engines were commonplace. These boats helped make the industrial revolution a reality!

Some bloke pretending to be a Bargee but messing up. The attempt at closing a gate by looping your stern line round the gate and using the boats momentum to pull it closed was particularly hilarious!..lol (FYI - I used to work on a 71ft ex Willow Wren boat and took her out single handed many a times without having a ‘bad’ day)

My first question is, how can a person own a boat and NOT have a decent length of rope???? Did you get a load of those dudes trying to move the boat sideways with body swings? I had to rub my eyes and make sure I was seeing things correctly. What a bunch of duffuses.
