Lesson I learned if it’s messed up, stop cut it loose reg grind it re-weld it. I got lucky on this one. I managed to save it.

Its funky but I like it! Killer bevel grinding, it cuts like a dream! I'm no expert and but maybe dont hit the steel so hard when first setting the forge welds and like the first comment, start from the middle and work out. The insulation on the forge looks thin. Anyway to thicken? Also use soft fire brick for the doors. The hard brick absorbs heat. The soft brick will reflect the heat.

Thank you! I definitely need to insulate my Forge better I will look into better fire brick

Absolutely awesome for your first one 👍 only thing id maybe change is to use a cut down 7 lb sledge hammer and dome the hammer head on a slack grinding belt.. try hitting the steel in the middle and working out to the sides 👍 hope it helps but best knife you've made up to now by far 👏👏 don't have to be a bad ass to make it, just mental 😂😂all the from the north west of England.. Lincoln 🤙👍

Maybe just try two steels..my best results have been with 80 CRV and 15 N20.. some of my designs I've had to tweak a bit because of a few inclusions in the finished stock🫣😁 can't beat putting it in ferric chloride 💪😁

@@knifesharpeningnorway well, it is comfortable in the hand and it does cut well took a nice edge. Changing the shape multiple times is usually not a good thing lol
