You hit the nail on the head, Donna's ability to sing any genre of music is unmatched. Donna has Grammy's from Rock to Disco to prove it. On June 30, 1979, when “Hot Stuff” descended from 1-2 and “Bad Girls” moved up from 5-3, Summer became the first woman to have two singles in the Hot 100’s top three at the same time.

Bad Girls the single top the Billboard Hot 100 for 5 weeks, and was the #2 single of 1979 on Billboard. Bad Girls the album top the album charts for 6 weeks going Triple Platinum, and was the #2 selling album in the US, behind Supertramp's Breakfast in America. Bad Girls won Favourite Pop/Rock single at the American Music Awards, Donna was Pop/Rock Female and Soul Female. The song was written back in 1977, when Donna's friend and manager Susan Manao was mistaken for a prostitute by the police, outside of the Casablanca Records on Sunset Blvd in LA.

Donna wrote "Dim all the Lights" for Rod Stewart but ended up recording it for herself. I would have loved to hear Rod's rendition of that song!

Donna fought for over a year to keep this song for herself as her record company owner wanted to give it to Cher as he thought it was more suited for her.

"Hot Stuff" was the first single off her album and "Bad Girls" was the 2nd. Pure genius on Donna's part to have this happen since these 2 songs were almost always played together since they pretty much flowed right into each other. At the dance clubs and a lot of radio stations, it was "Hot Stuff" followed immediately by "Bad Girls". "Hot Stuff" was #1 for 4 weeks and "Bad Girls" was #1 for 5 weeks.
