Then be glad guy. You loose weight. Cause if you really are 200 lbs. You already dead. Landmine dont explode when you release the pressure. Thats a movie thing. The one that explodes on pressure release are booby trap warhead(that are designed to be put under this type of mine to kill the Demining team trying to tamper with the minefield). a deadman switch. And a Grenade.

During the landmine phase of training, we were practicing with the anti-handling devices (mouse traps). The dummy mines were full-size and had vents cut into the top. The mouse traps had very small explosives in them, a bit stronger than firecrackers. The practice tables had wooden boxes filled with, I think it was sawdust, that we would bury the mines in to practice removing the traps and disarming the mines. We had one guy get ahead of the instructor and tripped the trap. It blows up in his face with a cloud of sawdust and he just stood there with that "oh shit" look on his face as the sawdust rained down on him. You take your comedy where you can find it lol

There is one russian pressure *release* trigger for mines that exists. But its not used like this. It’s more for a trap where you plant the mine, put a plate of cookies on top of it, and then activate it. It then goes of when an enemy soldier grabs the plate. One of the fictional devices I saw in a piece of fiction (Bob Heinlein's "Starship Troopers," at that) was the Ten Second Grenade. A grenade with an announcement mechanism, when pin pulled and spoon released, started screaming: "I AM A TEN SECOND BOMB. I AM A TEN SECOND BOMB. "TEN!! "NINE!! "EIGHT!!" My mother's brother fought in WWII in Europe. He was the radio tech in his unit and worked directly with Gen. Wheeler. His squad was on patrol and entered a mine field by error. The decision was to walk in each others foot steps to cross out of the field. As the radio operator he was last in line. Uncle Ed wore a size 13 combat boot. He stepped on an anti-tank mine, and yes it did detonate. He had already been awarded the Bronze Star and this action brought the Purple Heart. Mines are detonated on the positive edge meaning stepping on the mine sets it off, not stepping off of it. Think about it for a second and it makes 0 sense why it would be any other way.

Basically if you are standing on it and it hasn't gone off yet it isn't going to, landmines don't go off when you lift your foot off they just go off when you land on one. So basically if you didn't immediately set it off don't think you can't lift your foot off lol.

don't the mines usually go off the instant they are triggered by the pressure not the release of pressure? So if it's not gone off the second he stepped on it then it's safe to step off for most mines.

I thought most anti vehicle mines were detonated by vibrations made by vehicles moving, not weight on them. Which is why in Finland in the Cold War they’d use accordion music to detonate minefields. The music resonated at the right vibrations to detonate them

Anti tank landmines usually take more pressure than that to detonate,it’s not an anti personnel mine, also almost every mine ever detonates when it’s stepped on,not when you lift your foot of of it

That’s not how land mines work. They will detonate as soon as the trigger is actuated (like a gun) in Bosnia we have MILLIONS of mines. These tank mines are no issue for people. Smaller ones-yes. But if you step on a mine Remove foot fast. It’s like a triggers on guns.

The overwhelming majority of mines detonate after being stepped on. The only anti personnel mine with a pressure-release initiation mechanism that I know of is the MS3 trap mine. There are several anti-handling devices, but they're not used on their own, instead they are placed underneath a mine (most commonly AT mines) to make them unliftable.

Funnily enough the concept of a mine only going off after pressure is taken off is a concept entirely invented by movies. In real life mines will go off when you step on them or not at all.

Ex combat engineer here. There are almost no pressure release landmines. You do have weary of old ones because of a degraded collapse mechanism. If the video is real it looks like an M15 but i wouldn't know unless i exposed the fuse. It would make it a korean war era American mine. It would be crazy of north korea was selling those to russia lol.

Tank tracks are designed to distribute weight so they don't sink. A woman in high heels will leave a dent in a wooden floor while an elephant won't. Also, don't wear high heels in a minefield...

Funfakt: Mines do not have a release trigger. Mines go up when you put your foot on them, not when you take them off. So the good news is, if you hit a mine and don't get blown up right away, you don't have to stand on it.
