As a long-time fan of Bad Religion - as well as a former touring audio engineer - I remain ecstatic when I hear this performance. I spent all three days that weekend, at the Palladium. Along with Darby (Ben is Dead) and Larry (Genetic Disorder), I was very happy that Epitaph invited us (Angry Thoreauan) to be a part of this legendary event. I still have the T-shirts that Epitaph Records gave us for that weekend. I still wish that they would have done "Yesterday." I can't imagine how the originally silly percussive bits would have been done by Brooks Wackerman (one of the most amazing percussionists, I might add - and I have worked with loads of them from early 20th century jazz to late 20th century metal), but I'm sure it would have been as memorable as the rest of this brilliant performance and recording.

51:22 AMAZING double bass on the drums! Nice addition to "21st Century Digital Boy"! Out of all their songs, this is the one they keep playing around with the most, always changing and adding new bits and pieces! This keeps an already amazing song fresh in my opinion. Bad Religion are MASTERS of their craft at this stage, and I don't mean just masters of punk, I mean masters of ALL music! They are fuckin' awesome, always were, always will be! The entire show is incredible. I was thrilled back in 05 when I used a gift card to F.Y.E that I got for my birthday to purchase this DVD that I found for the first time in that store, and realized it was brand new and their first live DVD ever. One of my best gifts I got myself. This American Jesus is one of the best live versions ever. The breakdown on this one is flawless, and you can hear the guitars making some melodic changes during it to accompany Jay's legendary bass line. I've never heard another live version do that. Love it.

Such a great DVD! I bought this back in 2007 which is when I had REALLY started getting into this band, and it was great because it allowed me to discover songs that I hadn't previously noticed. Modern man, Kyoto now and God's love stand out in that regard. I would watch this DVD over and over and I couldn't believe how good this new favorite band of mine was. They still are, and they're still my favorite band! The only thing that bugs be a little is that the sound is kind of muddy. There's no power in the drums, they could be clearer and more punchy. Oh and I wish that Cease was a full band version. How great would that have been?

As a diehard BR fan, I came to really dislike this DVD (the live show part) when it first came out in 2005. The band puts one hell of a performance (split between two shows, but you know what I mean), everyone is on point, the video production is awesome, but I can't get over how sterile the sound is. The guitars are muddy and powerless, they blend together as one homogeneous sound except when a solo is involved and the drums sound incredibly weak. If you listened to the audio without the video feed you'd never tell this is a 6 man band with 3 different guitarists. I would've much preferred a rawer sound, even with overdubs, which I don't really mind. I came to revisit this video for the first time in many years just to see if my opinion has changed, but I'm afraid not, still sounds awful. It's a shame because this is THE one high production value live DVD that we have from them.
