January 2024... No other band of my generation, perhaps any generation, had the pulse of humanity so nailed down. They elevate the prophetic messages that Graffin offers and yet it all falls on deaf years even decades later. I have lived my entire adult life with the prophesy of Bad Religion guiding me
@zaxthedestroyer675 Жыл бұрын
The one line that hits me in this song is "Just to settle a bet that could not be won, between a prideful father and his son." My dad and I had a turbulent relationship. Sometimes we would have periods of time where we didn't talk to each other and at one point it last almost two years. It was because of our pride and stubborness. We reconciled and then he passed away in November of last year. I know he loves and cares about me and I still love him. He had a lot of pent up anger and I don't think he ever managed his mental health in the best way. A couple months after his celebration of life, I had a dream about him. He was smiling, I ran to him and gave him a hug. I said I missed him and he said it back. Then he said that he had to go. It was bittersweet but I believe he's in a better place where there is no sorrow or pain.

He is a savant musician, but the world doesnt seem to care about him or his gifts. He showed me this song , this band was his first influence, and tells me of his story and wishes for a kinder more loving world that cared about people like him. When every one lays down their weapons the biggest one , their selfish pride.

My dad passed away November 29th of 2022. We had a turbulent relationship, and so did everyone else in our family with my dad. He was loving but I knew he never was able to manage his mental health in the most effective way. Sometimes we would go extened periods of time without talking and the line "Just to settle a bet that could not be won, between a prideful father and his son." Both him and I put walls up against each other and it was awful. I am grateful that we made amends before he died but it doesn't make it any easier knowing that we could have had a better relationship.

This is one of the greatest songs I’ve ever had the privilege of hearing! Everything about it is epic! The band name is one of the most brilliant I’ve ever come across and video concept is genius! But the guitar riffs and solo, drum licks, bad ass walking base line, and of course the best vocalist and most righteous and true lyrics this world has ever heard. makes these guys true legends! With the exception of mike ness and social distortion I can’t think of any band or vocalist that can stir up as much emotion in there music than these guys can. I truly wish there were still bands like this around and that there were bands blossoming from the next generation like this but unfortunately that hope is apparently dead. Because all I hear the last 10-15 years is the worst generic bubble gum mind numbing garbage coming from the record labels artists these days. There are some good random bands that pop up occasionally but I miss the days when mainstream radio played good music consistently. What happened America? How did we go from the best to the worst in one generation? Especially when we held the title for almost 100 years of the pioneers and kings of great innovative music in the world! Such a sad sad story. At least we have bands like social D and bad religion to ease our ears, minds and hearts suffering! God bless them and may the good lord be Jammin to there music when we get to heaven! Amen

Bad religion is just that.. religion. This is by far the most iconic "punk" band that was and still are period.

I love how these skinny, nerdy-looking, thoroughly average guys write some of the most awesome punk music the world has ever heard. No flash, all substance.

+Rafael Sanna Because main stream pop, rap, etc. is the music that TIME WARNER & Disney push.. That type of music is to help Divide us. Music like Bad Religion & other similar bands help to join the cultures, so they will never get the mainstream attention. They... (New World Order) want us divided.. just look at the racial issues pushed on TV.. Then see the interracial commercials pushed (as if we are all somehow wrong for forming relationships with friends of the same color) (I saw a Christmas commercial this year with every ethnic group at the same party) While I have zero problems with that, it's just not logical. (Am I suppose to feel bad) It's all for the same purpose. The media knows nothing but division so they can break up the culture. United we Stand, Divided we FAIL. Divide is the goal of the Elite, then system fail, then chaos. At that point is will be easy for them to destroy us so "they" can rebuild the world as they see fit. Many books published on this, but its hopeless to try an fix the problem.. the system is to big, the brain washing is done, now all we can do is hope for a few more years of stability. Peace
