I can see that point of view, only because the three most widely known songs of Bad Religion's on this album, which are probably three of their most popular, not-quite-radio-play,-but-damn-near, songs in their entire catalog, are probably the worst three songs on the album for me...They're still alright songs (I still kind of love "A Walk") which I admire...d greatly...at first...but they grew a little well-worn more quickly than most bona fide and unadulterated BR surefire bangers. They ain't gots the lasting power of a "Hopeless Housewife" or a "Fertile Cresent," and they ain'ts no "Come Join Us" or "Cease" for the nonexistent godthing's sake neither....Lemme qualify all of the erstwhile previous ramblings I was engaged in letting run rampant upon the digital stage in solitute: Probably, maybe?

If you would indulge me for a minute. I discovered Bad Religion when one of the songs from their new album (Recipe For Hate) was featured in an issue of CMJ. I was in 7th grade. I became pretty much obsessed immediately, and went out and bought their whole back catalogue to that point. Initially No Control was the album that resonated the most with me (read: changed my life), but after a while Against the Grain took it over. I have vivid memories of school field trips, family vacations, holidays, and other times when I would have the album blasting through my Walkman, oblivious to the outside. This song has consistently, for 22 years now, given me goosebumps. Your cover of it, as well as all of your others, is wonderful. Walk Away gives me such a bittersweet feeling: thrilled to have grown up with it and been able to play the living shit out of it, but also sad that those are only now memories. The saddest part is that of the 12-15 times (I forget exactly) that I saw Bad Religion, from 1996 through last month, they never once played Walk Away. Anyway, great job. Thanks for doing Bad Religion a service, and allowing me to reminisce and enjoy.
