#2 just killed it and most people won’t realize. Singing in whistle range is hard-singing “Bad Romance” in whistle range is pretty amazing. It takes an ungodly amount of muscle and lung control.

Yeap, that's why Mariah Carey and Minnie Ripperton are the Queens of the Whistle Register. They're completely untouchable when it comes to skill and technique. They have mastered the Whistle Register.

No!! Whistle notes doesn't require near as much muscles as belting or mixing, as well as only "lung control" you need is just steady small stream of air that comes out (like when playing a flute as a perfect example!). What else you need is to practice until you learn that "feeling" when vocal cords open just a tiny at the bottom part. What is crazy is that she sings words in a whistle register and that is something that requires practice and super control of your placement and vocal cords!!!!!

Both of these ladies are so talented. The first one was able to belt the same note that was in her whistle register. And the second lady was able to define different words, not that i could under stand them cuz they were too high, even at the highest. They are both so good!
