I had a roommate when I moved into my first apartment and it was great. She would cook when I wasn’t home and tell me it’s a plate for me in the microwave, she knew a few celebs and would always invite me to stuff, even though I never was the type to go out. When my car broke down she would let me use hers. I would help her out with stuff as well. Then we got a 3rd because we had an extra room and that was even better lol. She was just as cool. We got along fine. Bills were always paid on time and we didn’t trip over food because someone was always bringing food home and if someone brought something, one always asked before just taking. Lol I thank God I had them as roommates and we still keep in touch.

I'm not up for having a roommate personally but when you decide to get a roommate, you need to sit down with them & put everything out in the open. Your expectations & rules. Make things known upfront so there wont be any surprises. Tripp, man you were right in both situations. No you cant change the locks like that😂 but you were right for putting her out. I had 3 roommates, 2 from Craigslist, no jobs, serious meth addiction. Other one claim he had 3 jobs, serious weed habit. Start trying to pay me $50 here and there. They were all SHOCKED when it was time to go. The meth heads didnt last over 30 days of course (and they were white), I forgot about the Jamaican lady and her 9yr old daughter. Never bought food. Her little brother begged me to take them in for a couple weeks (that turned into months) for $300! She got a little disrespectful, said she wasn’t leaving, I just opened the door and threw all her shit outside! She believed me then. Another African dude I met at work, moved in and started talking crazy to me, accidentally left his key in the door one night, then REALLY started talking crazy, didn’t last 2 weeks! No more after that

You had me at size 13 heels lol. The whole clear bags I can relate because I had a roommate who would always disappear into the bathroom and would be in there forever meanwhile her friend would be over visiting her and say to me wow why is she always in the bathroom for so long, she must have the sh^^ts real bad, so id be left to entertain her guests until she would come out then go into the bedroom and meanwhile all of a sudden id see people i didn't know where over follow her into the bedroom , it was so gross but eventually people caught on to what she was upto and I was stuck at the time and needed a roomie but it becomes enough is enough and well I had to get rid of her. I was paying him every month, his name which i thought was on the lease but mine wasn’t. So lucky when the eviction was happening, the apartment ppl gave me a place to rent on my own thank god. My friend in Atlanta called me for my advice about a mutual friend of ours that wanted to move in with him. He asked me should he allow him to move in and I told him me personally I wouldn't do it cause he not gonna pay u any rent money. So my friend let him moved in and he didn't get not one dime in rent and moved out with some guy he met. So it's alot of people who live that life and not anyone u can have as a roommate never ever.

@blksahara5 жыл бұрын
For those of you saying that you will never have a roommate, that's because you went about it the WRONG way. First thing is to write up an Agreement. You will need that in the event that you have to evict a person. You can't just change the locks or throw them out on the street. Verbal agreements do NOT have any value in court. It doesn't have to be a long, fancy agreement but it should spell out the terms of the agreement; how much is rent, when it is due, what is included, (it is best to include utilities so that you don't have to chase them down for that). They should provide their own meals (no sharing period). Do not stress your roommate about cleaning up the kitchen, common areas or taking out the garbage. Their rent should contain provisions for all of the above. That's what I do and my roommate(s) usually pay 75% of my mortgage.

Tripp,this is why I will never share an apartment with anyone,because first of all the rules have to apply,u must to tell me about your friends and likewise, I'll be honest with u tripp,u let your care for others show that people take advantage of that,so by u allowing him to roommate,he felt he had all rights without consulting u on certain things, now supposing one of his friends was a sticky finger who would go through your stuff and take them,Tripp this is not a time in your life to open up your heart to these inconsiderate people who don't give a damn about anyone but themselves, no u ain't wrong,she knew u were a softee for other people 's needs,I used to be just like u till reality bit me hard to wake up to people with this behavior,one word I have for them,users and they'll u till every last drop of blood us out of your body,being tough doesn't mean u are a bitch ,it just means u are in control of things,Tripp don't let them get to u,put it all behind u,and learn from it.
