Hi family,
In this video, I have simply highlighted the bad and usually hidden sides of the newly introduced UK posy study/graduate route visa.
Watch and take note of this so as to plan adequately and not be taken unawares.

UK invites more than 500,000 international students in one intake to uni's across the country, this wont count 200,000 students coming from India to UK colleges. There are 2 main intakes in a year and many more for colleges. Imagine students thinking that all of them get chances to obtain PR at the end, no way. UK only sell degrees, they wont sell PR ! It's like you buying food from a grocery shop, you cant demand them to give you the ownership for the shop, buy what you want and leave cos there are lots standing in the queue. They have to look after their own 300,000 students who finish AL and coming to job market every year , do you think they are stupid to forget their own youth?

The 2 years post study counts towards your 10 years continuous stay which leads to a permanent residency. I used the route and I got mine. It is a long journey though.
@IntentionalFavour

How many years ago was that? Check the guidelines for this newly introduced one. Was it not stopped before it restarted again? As it was in the beginning isn't as it is now...
@opeyemio705
@opeyemio705 2 жыл бұрын
You are right that it was long ago. I regularly check the gov.uk site for new guidelines. But for a 10years CONTINUOUS stay which lead to a permanent residency, any type of VALID and LEGAL visa you have within the 10 year period add up the years. Post study visa on its own cannot lead to a permanent residency, one need to extend it with any other type of visa.

@@opeyemio705 Exactly my initial thoughts, but a condition attached to the graduate visa from my understanding says otherwise. Well I'm open to correction if you could explain what this statement means "This route will not count towards indefinite leave to remain/settlement."???

The 10 years route that you used , can you state what you were doing within the ten years ? Were you schooling or working legally? That will help set the record straight. Some that had graduate post study visa couldn't get sponsors for jobs and proceeded for PHD while some returned back home. For ten years rules you must not be here as an overstayer for it to count towards ILR application.
@happychild530
@happychild530 2 жыл бұрын
@@IntentionalFavour they stopped it in 2012 . Many went back to Nigeria then ,few proceeded for PhD and later got jobs afterwards . Those are people that used the 10 years route. The only saving grace for people coming in now is that the jobs categories are wider in terms of getting sponsorship, but then,l still have reservations especially with people coming with their families. May God help everyone on the scheme.

So all international students in the UK who graduated by or after May/June this year are eligible for that

Hello miss favour thanks so much for this vedio. Please if you bring a dependant on the student visa does that automatically give you and your dependants Permanent residency ?
@victoropara6573
@victoropara6573 2 жыл бұрын
What permanent residence? you are on study visa and the person you bring is dependent on you. If your study finishes then your dependent also expires. if you get your 2 years post study visa then the person will also get 2 years extension. That is all temporary visas. these are all temporary residence permit.

@@TheBoblegoTutorials hello Abdul, ofcourse you get the two yrs post study and then u jump into the labour market. Getting placement in your course of study or professional line isn't always easy bcos of other residency and nationality rules which favours the British citizen etc ahead of you in the labour market. Most post study friends I know ended up working in any available sector and sometimes non graduate jobs just to make ends meet. The real challenge is after the post study ends what next. I know some people switch into other visa route. Even those who get placement aren't assured bcos the company may decide not to retain you after your placement. So really it's a 50/50 but it's worth it should say as u get to have Ur degree and a UK work/life experience which can aid you in future endeavours.

Hi, You are expected to apply for it before your visa expires. So, I'll advise you apply at least a week before the exploration of your visa. If it does not come before your visa expires, you have nothing to worry about, as far as you applied before it expires.
