BAD TIMING, NO INSULATION | Van life during heavy wind storm

Hi everyone! I got a lot of questions if I will stickers and greeting cards back for sell on my website. The answer is yes but unfortunately Canada post is on strike right now. I have a big order of stickers waiting in mail somewhere to get deliver to me and even if I had some on stock I need Canada post to be able to send those to you. I will let you know when everything go back to normal, hopefully this will be before Christmas.

Hi, Emily! Maybe consider getting a yearly fluid film underspray on the van. It's whats recommended in my area of northeastern usa to help prevent rust.

Funny, I was just at a dealership the other day and the car salesman said the same thing, apparently works great, especially when you start doing that annually on a new vehicle. He also suggested using new engine oil.

What a terrible bomb cyclone that was! You chose your safe place well. We were 39 hours without power but others in our area were out 69 hours. No heat, no water, no internet :(

Find you a bottle that won't leak and boil some water, fill the bottle and place it under you blanket to warm your bed before you get into it.

I can't say enough good things about this trick! I did this when living in a vintage 19ft camper in UT winter. It really works well. I used "Arizona ice tea" gallon, thick plastic bottles. Do make sure the cap is on tight!!! Ask me how i know. LOL It heats the bed & bedding. So your own body doesn't have to. I used 2-3 bottles & moved them around under the blankets to warm the bed before getting in it. Awesome. Easy & cheap.

Love how Kelly is so at home. Even with that scary heater! She knows she is safe, and takes control of your warm blanket knowing she is welcome to it. How sweet she is, looking out at you. Glad you made it safely through the bomb cycle. Sounds like lots of people had a hard time.

I do that same way in the van to keep heat in back with a semi bunk heater, and even place a moving blanket over the back doors and side door, because bed is behind the seats!! And since I'm not in the van for awhile, this old man cat that my grandson found on the road late one night coming over, and gave him to me!! Jackson literally crawls under my covers and snuggles right next to me, laying his head on my arm! If I roll over, he crawls over me and settles in on that side!! I'm glad you were good in that storm, sounded bad!! Love the update on the van, stay warm Miss Kelly and Emmy!! Til next time❤❤

If you ever need covered parking you should park near Nanaimo Casino there is a covered parking lot on other side close to the grocery store. The clearance is very good and vans and RVs can easily fit.

I have 2-12v heated blankets and a wool blanket and you stay warmer with the heater blankets under you.

Hi Emi and Kelly! Thank you for sharing your day! No insulation in a van would be so cold! I have ugly tin foil roof and walls but it has made a difference for sure. That storm was ugly. I was in the Hope area and not last night but the night before I couldn’t sleep with 35km wind gust. Pine cones were dropping on my van all night long 🤣. Have an awesome weekend! 💜💜💜🥂

Oh you right for sure, when my power went out I hopped into bed with my jogging pants, fleece neck warmer, hoodie, winter hat and winter socks, I dug out my sleeping bag and tucked my head inside. I woke up in the middle of the night well overheated, even the cat jumped out of bed at some point.

Probably don't want to spend a bunch on insulation, so could you find some large pieces of cardboard up against the walls at night and the floor. will help keep you warm. just stack them on the floor in the daytime. Hugs from Sask.
