Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi died after a helicopter carrying him and other officials crashed in a mountainous terrain in heavy fog on May 19. Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi and his companions were riding a US-manufactured Bell 212 helicopter when it made a “hard landing.” Apart from the President, the Iranian foreign minister and East Azerbaijan Province Governor were also onboard. The helicopter was manufactured by Bell Textron, an American aerospace manufacturer headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. Watch the video to find out more.

I highly doubt the pilot was 1. instrument rated for flying in IMC conditions 2. The chopper was even equipped with a GPWS or TAWS system that would have warned the pilot he was too low. Looks like they flew directly into the side of the mountain. Pilot negligence appears to be the probable cause here … nobody else’s.

helicopters do not fly at such hights that regular planes do...the wreakage if caused by malfuntion of the chopper will be very different than if it was hit by a missle/rocket....forensics of the wreakage and body post mortems (if any left ) should be able to evaluate the cause.....however when Iran is in a Total War and has Enemy surrunding Iran a Helicopter Ride was a foolish venture
