There is a famous Ganesha temple near Thanjavuru in Thamilnadu named VATHAPI GANESHA. It's took from Badami when Pallava captured Badami. Badami s another old name is Vathapi. "Vathapi Ganapathi Bajeo " famous song composed by this Ganesha. Now most of all Badami temples are empty and ruined . I think they are not incomplete, they ruined in Badami war time.

Correct, Vikramaditya III, took revenge of this by defeating weak Pallavas and upraising Cholas. He was so aggressive that Chola King gave his daughter Thrilokya Mahadevi, in marriage to Vikramaditya, which paved the way for construction of famous dravida shaili temple complexes in Pattadakallu

Sir, we visited badami twice with our students but not saw these places, we saw only 4 cave temples ,lake and kappearebattana inscription. Badami chalukya's period is one of the famous historical period of karnataka history. It is more than 1000 years old than Hampi. But all these architecture are now also in good condition. It's revels how chalukyas period is. In C. E 642 Pallava king Narasimsih varma captured Badami fort. Pulikeshi 2 died in Warfield. They looted Badami. Hu-en-tsang visited badami. Guide didn't say anything about it all this . I think we see our historical places with well historical information. That is our visit more meaningful. We really proud of our history and nation.

I noticed one common problem in our country, when you go to some place ask any one, about place of visit, they say - no such place here. They do not value their own land. Even guides & drivers do that.

@@2009nandu you are right sir. Another problem is less people places are not safe to ladies. My husband and brother afraid to go with me such places. Example, in Hampi some places we didn't go inside because there is no security guard or peoples or visiters

Awesome Kottikkal Sir, atlast you have or already before my comment, covered the other side hillock temple complex, Kappe Arabhatta was a poet in the Chalukya Court who wrote this thripadi when the Pallavas of Kanchi may be Narasimha Varma was defeated by Pulikeshi, this thripadi indicates the qualities of kannadigas and forms second shasana after Halmidi near Shivamogga, that of Gangas. Well your coverage is par excellence, hope you have seen the Tamil Inscription in the ASI Museum office.
